I didn't exactly sponsor, on the second submission I went with her to the British Consulate in Dubai and submitted bank statements and savings records thinking I would get the visa through financial clout but it still didn't work. The visa was declined because of financial irregularities on my wife's side, they couldn't figure out why she was paid for accommodation by her employer, everything has to be spelt out to them, I was not a member here when all this was going on. There is little or no come back when they decline the visa, they don't have to give a proper excuse, and an excuse is exactly what it is. It was clear on both applications that we were both highly paid and that my wife was well travelled with the fact that she was in Dubai to fund her daughters university educations as the key that she would return to Dubai after her UK visit. She had visited the UK only two years before I met her to attend a friends wedding, as soon as she applied to come and see me then the draw bridge went up.
I used that form or something similar on the first attempt nothing like that on the second, it wasn't worded the same as it is now but we are going back about seven years.
You need to spell it out to them like you were talking to a baby, there has to be no doubt otherwise you are giving them the excuse to decline the visa, people have to remember that they are looking for excuses to decline the visa.
The ECO's are there to enforce the regulations and I am sure Micawber would agree with me on that point!
I think you are right. I dont think they are trying to get one over on the applicant, not as a rule. Just trying to apply the regulations.
There is no way you can prove 100% you will return to the Philippines, its all about supplying evidence that you are very likely to return home. That evidence could be family ties, work commitments, family ties, own business and house ownership amongst others.
Yes. I agree with Timmers. Hard to prove absolutely. You need to demonstrate proof of intent to leave on time.
Any children you are responsible for or elderly parents you care for. Also it reflects well if you are responsible for your children/parents up keep financially, you're sort of telling the UKVI that they cant do without you if you get my drift
My brother used to be the boss of ALL the ECOs at one time (head of Visa Section at the FCO), so we've had a few interesting conversations. lol
Ask him if he would like to become a member of the forum, this way he could go some way to righting his wrongs Cannot beat a bit of inside information
Haha. I'm sure he'd thank me for that. All changed now of course...now that a lot of responsibilities and services have been 'contracted out'.
I've never really had to ask, to be honest. He probably knows as much as I do now, the way things have moved on. He's back at London HQ, but in a different post.
