Hi guys, wondering if you can help me out here. My wife has her interview this coming Tuesday at the VFS centre, she is almost organised with all the materiel that is needed, but she has now misplaced her old passport, and cannot find it. Would her visa still be granted? (I earn over the financial requirment, so that's not a problem)

I haven't got a foggiest. I suppose the old passport is a lot less important than the current one. You can reschedule the appointment if its in less than 48 hours time...

Why might she need her old passport?

The guidance notes say to include any old passports in the application..

I'd give them a call, if that is at all possible.

Ah, ok. We were on her first passport so didn't know about that.

Isn't there a section for the applicant's passport details? You enter the details of the current passport, and then there is an item where the applicant is asked of any previous passports and their details, including where the passports are now. I have an old one, and put in my possession as it is still with me. Can you not edit and state "lost"?

I know my wife when she filled in the online form it asked about her travel history for the last ten years, I did notice however that there is provision to say you have lost the old passport but keep in mind that my wife applied a couple of years back and the form may have changed.

If there is provision to say you've lost your old passport then state that it is lost.

The UKVI are only trying to establish your travel and visa applications history, the current passport is the important one.

Hi @bobby! I'd probably ask her to get an affidavit of lost passport from a lawyer and present that instead if you really can't find the passport. You can also ask her to add a bit of explanation in her letter (if she made one) so the embassy is aware of the situation.

Hi, yeah, my wife wrote a affidavit letter, we couldn't get the interview postponed to another time. She is totally knacked out now lol, she's flying to Manila first thing in the morning. She never wrote an applicant letter. It's way too late now. I really hope all goes well with everything else that she has got

I did a bit of digging. I'm not sure if this would help as I have never tried this service before. But have a look at the Get It Right service. I'm also not sure if the service caters to your problem.
