Hi guys, me and my partner were married last week in the Philippines and are now planning on getting my wife her UK spouse visa. She currently has no children and I earn more than the 18600 required to get her visa plus meet all the other requirements, I can't seem to find any info about what happens once we decide to start our family when she's in the UK, will I have to earn the £22400 a year for her and the child to stay or does it not matter as long as she wasn't pregnant at the time her visa was approved?? My salary is around 20k and no overtime available so set amount, Can't seem to find anything on the internet regarding this

If the child is born in the UK it will be a UK Citizen, so won't need a visa. So the financial requirement will be the same as before.

If a child is born in the UK to a foreign national it doesn't automatically give them British Citizenship, if it was the US then yes, that's why you cannot travel to the US when you are a certain time into your pregnancy, they do not want the child of a non US citizen being born there.

I'm assuming Iainchelle is British when I say that.

Since July 2006, any child born in the UK to a British father who resides in the UK, will be British, even if the mother is foreign and even if they are not married. The financial requirement only applies to foreign children that you are sponsoring. British children do not count.

The financial threshold goes up with each added applicant.

If you have a baby who is a British Citizen then he/she won't need a visa. So the threshold will not increase.
