As long as she doesnt visit you on her duty hours, she should be free to go where ever she wants.

Is she thinking of spending a few days with you and your family? I would think that it is allowed- i mean there are laws against detention all over the uk right? Even people who works as live-in nannies to wealthy people are free to wonder where ever they want on their day off.

Be she needs to check her schedule or rota first. She might not be allowed immidiately after arriving unless she finish some admin stuff etc.

tell her its a different situation in the uk- i know this is the situation if you work as a nurse in a military hospital in saudi arabia- you cant just go anywhere or not turn up in your dormitory at night.

She is neither a prisoner nor a slave.

This is NOT the middle-east (thank god). We live in the 21st century.

Unless she has some sort of on-call duty commitment , why shouldn't she be free to go where she pleases during her time off ?

I have a friend who is a nurse on a working visa.

She travels a lot around the UK. So I don't really know what the issue is.
