Does anyone know if an incorrect answer on the Appendix 2 form is grounds for visa refusal? I made a mistake on ours - Question 4.11 asks if the sponsor has savings, including shares, etc. We ticked 'yes'. It then says 'if yes please provide full details'. We just gave the figure and the word 'savings'. I realised after we submitted that this figure does not match my bank statements because some of what I have is in shares. So the amount we wrote there is £12k more than what's in my bank. So I SHOULD have written the amount I have in the bank and the amount I have in shares, but instead I just put the total with no explanation, meaning it doesn't match my statements. Could they refuse the visa on this?

I have posted this in another thread but I'm posting it on its own now in the hope of getting some more opinions, because I'm very worried about it.

Dont know Lisa. It might. It might not. They might email and ask you to clarify or they might not even notice.

I also believe that they don't count shares as savings.

The question actually says the word shares though, so I have given the amount correctly - I just haven't explained where the extra £12k is.

Lisa, you used an agency didn't you? Did you fill out the form or did they?

It's probably best to give them a call and ask their opinion.

I dont think it would affect the decision unless these shares and savings are being used to meet the financial requirements, its a tough one really, one to which you will have a struggle getting a definative answer I feel.

Try to remain positive and calm, there isnt anything you can do about it now unless they contact you about it like John suggested they might.

Shares fluctuate day by day anyway so the total amount will also.

Yes that's right - the amount fluctuates. It's just the fact that I added in the money I have in shares without explaining what that money is. So say hypothetically I have 50k in the bank and 10k in shares I just stated that I have 60k in savings. I didn't stipulate the two amounts even though the question says 'please provide full details'. So when they look at my statements and see 50k they might wonder why I said 60 and where is the other 10. Lol as I'm typing this is it sounds ridiculous and picky but we know what they're like :frust:

They may just wonder if your other 10ks worth is elsewhere. Which it is. But, like we have said, it is immaterial if you aren't needing it for the basis of your application.

Hi! Why did you fill up Part 4? This section is for those exempt from financial requirement right? Just want to ask if we satisfy the financial requirement in category a, are there still parts I need to answer besides Part 3? Thanks!
