So that's where I went wrong. I married a person instead of a country.

What's so bad about where you are?

I have never had any complaints about the food in the Philippines, what would be your usual diet in the UK?

How come the wife is "lovely" but you won't be doing a visa for her, something not right here.

What age are your kids now?

You probably are the age that your profile says with Crossroads as a reference, 64 years.

What age are they, if under seven years old, even if you already have British Passports for them, you won't be leaving the Phils easily with them, the mother has sole parental control until that age.

If you do have UK passports and you attempt it by pretending they are just British you will be at risk of abduction charges, possibly from the UK as well.

Funnily that is what our neighbours have, dogs and cockerels and it drives her nuts, doesn't bother me very much, but she's fallen out with the neighbours and would probably be ready to kill them.

I really do not need to reply to any of you.
It is blatantly obvious that all of you are nicely settled in the Uk.
    Good for you.
No matter what age I am , or gender, I am old enough to know what is correct.
It is all very well to sit and and disagree , that is your right, but reallyMarkham, especially, where are you coming from.
    You should know!
    Worlds apart. .
    This is the Philippines.
Where is the UK any where near this place.

No I'm moving to the Phils because I can't get my kids to the UK, so you're wrong and if you don't want replies then why did you post at all?

I generally try to defend regular users of this site from abuse and I would try to defend you and get some serious answers for you but this seems more like a rant to be honest.

Nothing wrong with letting off some steam but really it is a forum, all you can get are replies :)

To everyone else here participating in this thread there might be a very small chance that this is "John" while on holiday, letting off some steam, while the grammar does not fully match some of the sentiment does.

This user is posting from Northern Samar, we will only publish information like that to confirm or deny the probability that a particular author is to some degree authentic.

edit: I'm wrong it is not our ex member "John".

Whilst fully understanding that if the op is really in his sixties, he is legally allowed to feel grumpy, I feel that his attitude towards anything filipino has changed somewhat radically for the worst....
I detect a fair amount of palpable hate in the posts..
    Something must have gone pearshaped............

Calm down, relax, you are with friends here........ Ok, sometime there is the odd joker that likes to take the mickey, but he means well, no malice.

But........ Why do I smell smoke...?

No sir, you will not unless their mother gives her written and sworn consent and clearance is obtained from the DSWD. And that is regardless of whatever Passport they may be travelling on.

    As for:
That may be so but it does depend on your definition of "correct". By that, you may mean what is normal and 'correct' in the UK, or another first world country, but not the custom in the Philippines.

Do you? Are you sure about that. For all practical purposes, you as a foreigner have no rights under the law - the current Constitution's Bill of Rights applies only to Philippine citizens and you are not one of those.

Then you should know better than to bad mouth Filipinos or do their country down. You want to see Filipino cuisine at its worst? Get yourself arrested and sent to Bicutan, the minus ten star hotel run by those awfully nice immigration chappies.

Not him Dom, I checked the history, it is unusual to get such vitriolic posting from anyone out of the blue but if you go back to his first ever post he was clearly a new member.

The smoke seems to be a problem between him and his wife to be honest.

I hate it. So **** this site.
You all make out it is helpful and you you are so so condescending.
    Just for your information.
    I’m not skint.
    My neighbour is SarahDuerte.
I live in Ecoland phase 3 in Davao city, and have done for 5 years.
If you would like to check , be my guest.
I have also lived in Agusan, in Mindanao.
As a foreigner, happily without any incident.
But, this country is a ****hole.
You all sit and give advice, from your comfy, chair in the UK.
    Very nice for you.
