I'm very curious how members here managed to find their lovely Brits and/or Filipino partners. I met mine on an online dating site. It was only a pastime to start with coz I didn't think I would find someone serious online, but then I found him lol. Did you meet online? Or while traveling or working abroad? If it's not too personal.
Whilst on a 24 hour visit to Manila to see an old friend- basically taking a weekend out of a business trip to China. Robert, my friend, had traveled to Manila for our meeting and we were having dinner in an unremarkable Italian restaurant which might have been in Greenhills, but I'm not sure. Two Filipinas walked over to our table, informed Robert that he was gwapo, and asked if we would be interested in a day's work as extras on a movie. We were not, but Robert kicked me under the table and whispered "The younger one is gorgeous- you are single again - get her phone number!" So I did. Actually spent the rest of the evening chatting her up, got her a taxi home at the end of it and flew back to London. On the plane I realised that I had fallen for her and phoned her as soon as I was home... Five years and 10 months later..,
Well mine I found my fiancé in a chat app called skout. Are you familiar with it? I'm the first one who found him there and started to message him just to say hello. It was so strange at first really and never realized that he'll be my soon to be husband haha from stranger friends to close friend to bestfriend to in a relationship and getting married soon
We met in calabar restaurant at the address in dubai (the same hotel that was on fire on NYE) He was on stop-over in dubai from australia to glasgow.
Aww haha yes I did try Skout before but not the right app for me. Good to hear successful love stories from random dating apps. It's not working for everyone but worked for some of us Congraats
Lucky you. And lucky him No need for dating sites. Very random, sounds sweet Another online dating success. Congrats
my wife hates people knowing its how we met--as if it carries a stigma or something. online dating sites are a great success in the UK--i know several couples who met that way..although in some cases it was a short term engagement.
I've tried skout before out of boredom, met some good friends there. I'm not sure if you know the "ticket" thing in which allows you to "travel" to different countries. That was fun.
My fiance told me that dating sites are somewhat a "thing" in the UK as it's easier to meet more people.
