Don't know your 10 day rule but I know 1 year on and off we had enough ... Hopefully it will happen, technically. Thanks for your insight.
As an EU citizen you do not need a visa for a short stay in the Philippines; http://www.worldtravelguide.net/philippines/passport-visa If you intend to get married then I would have thought that giving yourself three weeks would be better than two, we have some excellent guides on marrying in the Philippines on the forum but they relate specifically to British Citizens. As Steve says, you need to do some research and get all your paperwork in order to avoid any disappointment, you don't want to tell your loved one that you're coming to get married and it all falls through at the last minute.
Definitely and totally agree. My main issue atm is entering Philly without any further travels to Edinburgh or London for visa .
You do realise that you will have to apply to your own Government for a Certificate of No Impediment which may need an authenticated official translation into English (which may need to be Apostilled). Without that, you will not get a License to Marry. Depending on where you apply, the License may take 10 to 15 working days before it is available and valid.
Just Marry in Hong Kong. Not cheap but the requirements are simpler and you can gurantee it'll be done in a week.
It took almost three months for my wife to get her passport after applying at the Embassy in London, waiting times will differ of course.
Thanks I hope it comes in the next two weeks we are going back to see family,as you will know they don't hurry with any thing ,one speed slow haha thank you so much once again mate
I know how you feel, my wife got her new passport just one or two weeks before she had to attend her daughters graduation back in the Philippines. Good luck
Thanks I think we will need it now the worst thing is trying to find any thing out from the embassy is like talking to a door
I have not heard a good word said about the Philippine Embassy in London, only people like ourselves who are generally disappointed with the service they offer.
To be fair it is 10 times as bad in the Philippines and every thing costs money it's just so frustrating
I'd be very interested to hear an update on when you get the passport. I had renewed mine as well and we are travelling soon. Based on updates from friends in dubai, passport processing time there is earlier than the expected 8 week. Hope the same is true for UK.
My wife renewed her passport in Dubai in order to have her name changed to her married name. Total turnaround time was 5 weeks and there were a couple of local holidays in that period.
