Hi good evening guys! Here in manila right now.
Not scheduled for VFS yet since waiting for my husband's documents. We have decided to use the VFS scanning system since I wanted to personally check the docs first before we submit it. Have few more questions:
    1. Can i use any kind of envelop for my application pack?
    2. Do i still need to write my name outside the envelope and on the first page of the enclosed documents aside from the GWF number? On my daughter's envelope, should i write my GWF number as well being the main applicant?
    3. Anyone has idea if my daughter's nanny will be allowed inside VFS?
Anything else important i need to bear in mind in this stage of application?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi Kareena, if you will have your documents scanned at VFS you don't need to submit them in an envelope. Instead you will need to arrange them accordingly as per the bar codes. No need to write your GWF number but you need to submit a printout of your online application form. All your documents will be given back to you after scanning, except your passports of course.

Not sure if you've been to the VFS website but its worth exploring it. They have specific instructions - A4 size, no staples etc.

Hi roseanne. Thanks for you response. Yes ive been to vfs website. As for the barcode ive read it's not necessary for settlement visa but only to those applications mentioned in the first paragraph of the link u gave me. But i have done something like this so its easier for me to find my documents.

That's exactly what I thought also. But when I submitted my application pack for scanning, the lady at VFS Mla asked and offered me a set of barcodes if I didn't have them yet. Luckily I already had barcode separators so it saved me the stress of sorting my documents right there and then.

Are the set of barcodes they offer are for free? Did they scan the barcodes as well?

Hmm, did u just applied recently? If that's the case then i would just take ur advice. It's better to be ready. And also i am thinking that those barcodes they offer might be for some fee much higher than when you just print ur own. Thanks!

Am I correct in thinking my Wife submits her Documents for scanning and Biometrics when She makes an appointment at VFS Global & I submit my supporting documents Documents to Sheffield for scanning.

What i meant was the barcodes they offer in VFS. If you didnt printed it yourself and they offer you the barcodes their, they might not be free anymore. Well, we are not sure. Im not also sure if they are to be used of you submit your docs at sheffield. Coz in my case, i will be sending all our documents through VFS.
