You're wrong mate, I would have offered support where a specific policy would make sense and be good for the people and the country, but I never gave blanket support to any party, the closest I would have got to that would have been the Liberal Democrats and they have screwed themselves up badly now.
But he has managed to keep perhaps his biggest commitment after taking us out of the European Union - securing a deal - a huge political and personal relief, perhaps, for the man whose name and reputation will be forever linked with the UK's decision to leave the EU.
He didn't make the decision the vast majority of the people did, he delivered the democratic wish of the country.
It's old territory, he saw his personal advantage in supporting it, the man had no principals he backed leave in his own self interest. All that is going to happen now is that it plays out over the next decade, this deal is now a million deals that will be discussed ad nauseam as political forces in the UK try to diverge from it in their own interests and more often than not against the interest of working people in this country. I'm done, I've lost a lot of valuable rights, my daughters have lost those same rights huge opportunities and freedoms, I'll point out issues one by one as they arise in coming years but really Brexit happened nearly a year ago, it's over, apart from in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
That's not strictly correct though, is it. Yes, the brexit vote won, but it was a narrow win, not a vast one. Plus, a lot of people didn't vote so, technically, it was actually a minority of the people who voted for brexit. Not arguing with the result, and it was the democratic wish of the British public, but it wasn't voted for by the vast majority of them.
Yes it was, but without Johnson's backing leave it might not have gone the way it did, I am referring to that choice at that time.
