What does the "disagree x1 list" mean in this post please? I'm not a forum frequenter before now so have no clue.
I think what he's saying is that he just googled for jobs and those links came up - he's not saying they're pucker jobs... do you support a football team Fazer?
I think i recall reading about this before, but will go read up on it again. I'm sure i remember reading about different options. One was to be married to a natural Philippine citizen and staying there for a few yrs as married couple. I think the other was a visa thing. I'll check it again.
No worries Fazer... no particular reason By the way it is easier to work here if you're married to a Filipina... And I used to see adverts for Driver's quite often ... Not sure if it is class 2 work but one thing ... They expect you to know how to fix the vehicle too here ... I would check with your gf whether she'll be happy you working as a driver here... might influence where you choose to live.
Yeah, i believe it is easier here from what i recall from online and previous posts here. My heads a bit of a jumble at the mo if i'm honest.
There are two sides to this: 1. How do you legally live and work in the philippines ? Several options which can be investigated although easiest situation is probably when married to filipina. Unique skills and expat package are the other option although from your posts that doesnt sound promising. 2. Once able to work then need to think about what skills you bring compared to native filipinos. Anything that puts you on a level playing field means that you are competing with native speakers and also unlikely to get more than locals are paid - pay will be considerably less when being paid as a local. You probably should think about what unique aspects you bring compared to a native. One example would be call centres dealing with overseas english speaking countries where you bring the extra of being a native english speaker and experience of living abroad. Jobs dealing with expats may also help make you a bit unique. Sitting in the UK then your skills and experience may now seem different. Working in the Philippine then need to remember that some things wont translate with same benefits eg driving jobs - will need a Philippines license and then competing with locals who understand roads better, speak and read local languages and probably know the geography better. Also probably willing to work for less. Correspondingly you are native english speaker, used to dealing with foreigners and experience of living abroad. Need to think how your knowledge and experience can be made different and more valuable.
Hmmm... might be best to put your Filipino dream and gf on the back-burner for the moment and concentrate on finding another Job in the UK so you don't end up wasting away your savings... see how you feel about things once you're back in work and settled again. To be honest, it's mostly retirement age guys with stable pensions who can afford to settle here at your age.
Thanks for your time and thought there highlighting these good points. I think i'm going to have to focus on what John say's, which is getting another job here for now and see how things go. I'm actually very concerned about that in itself at the moment.
Man unIted, who's that? Why are my laughing emojis not showing up. I put 2 in after text to indicate it's a joke.
Yeah, i would do that of course, i'm just at the finding out stage for now. Like pre planning if yiu like so i can know for when the time comes.
