My wife's sister was on vacation recently to Hundred Islands and somewhere along the way she was able to purchase one of these and she posted her picture with it on her Facebook account. From Korea, evidently. (For those that might be offended, she is a fine upstanding catholic woman. A time served school teacher with one hand on the role of headmistress (or whatever you call them over there) and enjoys an ice cream and cannot help the name given to them). http://www.eatyourkimchi.com/korean-*****-ice-cream/
back in the '70s--i owned and operated an ice cream take away business-----and had a carpigiani "whippy" machine. liquid mix went in the top--and money came out of the nozzle. if i was running short of mix--in went a pint or 2 of tapwater. now--the thing is--my tapwater was potable----but what about the muck that floats around in the water in those place???. i wouldnt touch freshly made ice cream with a bargepole.
That probably goes for a lot of things, Bigmac. Not so many years ago every offshore rig and many onshore rigs had a whippy style ice cream machine. But then they dissapeared. I believe hygene was an issue with them. Mind you, my wife pointed out, you never know if the Indian chap that makes your curry, has washed his hands!
i know--i try not to think about it--but at least the curry gets cooked !!--ice cream dont. i emptied--stripped down and sanitised my machine every evening---and had samples taken regularly by environmental health. never had a problem in 10 years. i must remember to pack loperamide when i go over.
That video is in South Korea mate just look at the shop names, typical Korean text on many and usually with an English name as well the water there will be every bit as good as here. The Hundred island's in north west Luzon in the Philippines, that's a different matter Ice Cream is a bloody good business, how come you're not super rich mate
If she keep's yo-yo'ing from Manila to Seoul then maybe one day I will set foot in South Korea, looks like a laugh that ice cream a lot worse than eating a Cadbury's flake Interesting take on an ice cream cone
Headmistress is called 'Principal' here, just like in the US. I was expecting something nastier. It's still tame, just a J-shape ice cream cone.
Ice Cream is a bloody good business, how come you're not super rich mate i was--i had it all--then along came a nice big fat expensive divorce. but all that was 0ver 30 years ago.
No pre-nup? I've got a good business idea for you, free of charge. Hahahahha... Go and introduce Halo-Halo in the UK. Make it special and unique with heaps and heaps of ice cream!
I had halohalo in my back garden yesterday celebrating my daughters birthday. Not quite a chow king halohalo (which I like) but very nice nonetheless
Do Brits (born and raised) like Halo-halo (Not you admin! Hahahahha)? Is it rare in the UK? To those who have tried it, what do they say about it?
It's an acquired taste, not all of us are fond of it, but quite a few are, possible a Marmite type of thing, but what do I know Sickly sweet gelatinous stuff
