New rules on UK migration

    Her home country does not permit it. If she takes British Citizenship, which she can, she will not have the option to reinstate her home country citizenship on a dual basis.

    So just now she remains on ILR

    For Citizenship. Only in a couple of minor senses, otherwise no. Same rules, Dave. All done through UKVI

    She is not. The reason for mentioning her is she is on ILR indefinitely. :D

    Anyway if it all goes tits-up we'll create a British-Filipino mini-village in some country where we're all allowed to be :)

    I was just thinking, our loved ones are really oblivious to all this, I for one never discuss anything with the wife relating to any possible immigration problems that may arise in the future.

    I give my wife a gist. But dont get bogged down in it. She isnt really interested in the nuts and bolts of it all.

    Filipinos are without question more positive in their outlook on life than we are, or at least I am :)

    Has the hubby settled in okay Lisa, did you get the FLR and has he found a job he likes?
