The Premiership winners trophy and Charity Shield - Man U stadium tour. “Football is not life or death, it is more important than that” “Welcome to Anfield”
You're absolutely right, Jim, there was that photo taken at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club and yes, I was not happy about its appearance and iirc Andrew removed it. I confess I had completely forgotten about it.
I enjoyed the tour guide. He was quite funny. I was surprised at the lack of developement. This was about 5 years ago now. I know they had a problem with the local housing stock. People still living in half of them. They needed to acquire that land to develope the ground.
From what I remember there was a few stubborn residents who were holding out for more money than the property was worth knowing that they were stopping the construction of the stand extension. Anfiekd road is next to be extended but on hold for now as the fans kicked up a big stink because the American owners wanted to increase the gate prices after the new tier on the main stand was built.
Okay I didn’t know how things had progressed. I read your post about your partner enjoying football. Is she a Liverpool FC convert?
She watches, screams at the TV and then tries to wind me up by supporting whoever we are playing against But Cheers just as loud when we score
I just watched the programme England Manager The Impossible Job on BBC 2. It was a rather sad compilation of stories going back to and including Alf Ramsey. Can be watched on iPlayer
I thought exactly that. Maybe England have a good opportunity this time. But, Tunisia may well be a tough nut to crack, especially if they park the bus. Let the beautiful game begin and a well deserved 2 - 0 win to England would be just great.
Nou Camp was the most impressive but there was no tour guide. So it was a bit dissapointing from that point of view. They have a massive museum and trophy room on display. And of course the ground is colossal. I meant to go a few years back but didn’t get around to it and took the opportunity 2nd time around when we were visiting Barcelona.
Yes agree , I'm going for a 2 0 also . We need to get off to a good start , with Belgium coming up soon .
OMG! Some wasted chances in the first half. Won in the end by the centrebacks with Harry Kane on the end each time. Right result in the end. Despite the Tunisian defenders displaying all the attributes of the Sergei Ramos school of wrestling.
Yes , started well at a high tempo , but faded in second half . No disrespect to Tunisia, but we must beat teams like this , and didn't look like we were going to . Credit to the lads for trying right till the end , and finally making the breakthrough and getting the result , and the subs made an impact . Referee poor, with letting blatant fouls by their defenders go unpunished . On to the next one , and another win needed .
