Applying with my 1 yo daughter

In our case..my wife's for runs till November 2018.. just over a year. I wonder if her sons visa will run to the same date...which could have a bearing on any IHS charge.

Today we received an email from UKVI for my stepsons visa application but not my wife, is this normal, we did use the same email address as he doesn't have one.
Also same with TEXT from VFS just for my stepson not my wife, and we just used the one phone number..

Is this normal?

Hi @a8amg! For the text from VFS, i received one text for me and one for my daughter on the same mobile number. For the email, i received the one for my daughter first then after a week i received the one for my self.

We have received and email now for my wife's application, but we only received one text message after my wifes Biometrics, we did use the same mobile number.

I called UKVI to find out whats going on with not being able to pay for children.
They told me, that their system sometimes doesn't always ask for the payment even though it should, however if you need to pay you will be sent a link via email to pay, they warned me that the link is only valid for 24 hours so you need to check you email and spam folder regularly.

Ha..bloody typical. The email address we gave is my wife's..she's back in the filis now..and there s no net where she is.
Is there no end to the bungling screw ups at ukvi?

Yeah, I've told my wife that she needs to make sure she checks her email everyday and forward me any that are from UKVI...
Having said that, there are ways to to have certain email addresses forwarded instantly. My wife has a Gmail account which is fairly new so I may try and do this.

Can you let us know if ukvi do email you about the fee?

I think you are taking a bit of a risk with waiting till your wife is back before you send his TB test certificate etc.. to sheffield, I assume you've already sent your sponsor documents there already. I'm not sure how quick they start their process, I was however told Wednesday my stepsons application was at Stage 2 (whatever that means).
I know you have no choice if your sending the originals. We sent scanned copies, they got there 2 days after they had received my document. I did however get them all back together in the envelope i supplied with the first lot.
I am a little concerned they aren't original, but my wife was told by VFS to scan and email them to me, for me to send them to sheffield.

i understand its 3 weeks from biometrics to sending documents in. i sent all my sponsorship stuff last week--including copy of the vaf4 . i doubt if ukvi will even open it yet.

Welcome. Did ur wife have her docs scanned in vfs or all the docs are send directly to sheffield? The text it got from vfs is to confirm that they have forwarded our scanned docs to sheffield. Is that the same as urs?

I hope past applicants with dependent can give us an idea about the no ihs payment for the children. If they received a link for the payment while waiting for the visa or after the decision has been made.

just had my return envelope from sheffield returning all my paperwork i sent in last tuesday--with standard covering letter saying they had copied it all etc. & will contact us for further info if needed.

i wonder who has the job of marrying up the sponsors docs with the applicants sent from abroad.--oh and the biometric scan from vfs. probably a blind person who only reads braille.

The intention was for her to have her documents scanned at VFS, but was told since I had sent mine to Sheffield already, then her documents needed to be sent the same way.

So it looks like ALL documents can either be scanned at VFS OR Sent to Sheffield. Not both

Yeah, they didn't hang around scanning my documents, about 1.5 weeks turn around, and they married them up with my second posting of documents 2 days after the first lot. They were received on the 16th & 18th Oct and when I called them on 1st Nov, they were at stage 2.

yesterday, my wife got an email from sheffield confirming they had received her sons application via VFS manila.

I think whats more important is the email from sheffield.
