The use acronyms is very frequent when answering posts on these forums, but some times with so many it gets a bit confusing, a comprehensive list of them in alphabetical order would be a great help for newbies.. that's my tuppence worth, thanks for listening. (reading)
I'm struggling to think. These are the ones I can think of: ILR - Indefinite Leave to Remain VFS - Company that processes visa applications in the Philippines on behalf of the British Government. BRP - Biometric residence Permit. PAL - Philippine Airlines LHR - London Heathrow Airport MNL - Manilla Airport
But some are 5, 6 or 7 characters and by the time you've remembered what each word is for each character you might as well of just said the darned entire non-acronymed word!
To which we can add: BOI - Bureau of Immigration BIR - Bureau of Internal Revenue BSP - Philippine Central Bank NSO - National Statistics Office NBI - National Bureau of Investigation BPI - Bank of the Philippine Islands LTO - Land Transportation Office (Philippine equivalent of DVLA) NCR - National Capital Region - aka Metro Manila and comprises 14 cities and 3 municipalities around Manila FLR - Further Leave to Remain
FLR - Further Leave to Remain FLR (M) - Further Leave to Reamain (Marriage) FUNEX - Have you any eggs?
MTGG - hungry horse. Seriously though, once we get a complete list we will create a new sticky thread

Its starting to get too complicated now for us older boys, I don't want to spend half my time looking up what the acronyms mean
Hear hear. I can't stand acronyms. Looking at some of the above, frankly rather ridiculous social acronyms (ITALY - I trust and love you ? really? Now there's a phrase guaranteed the warm the cockles of any hot blooded womans heart) I wonder whether all this is rather too much of a bad thing. I remember watching a young couple on a date a while ago. They were both tapping away on phone keyboards rather than talking. I found it rather sad.
