    Januarius....
I can only tell it as it happened.

He was the driver who touted for our business at Tagbilaran Airport (getting to our hotel).
During the journey he obviously mentioned that he was available for hire if we wanted to do the Choc Hills etc etc.
He was an old boy, and his English was almost non-existent, so when my wife replied in his dialect, this seemed to please him no end.

He started off at 2,500p but when my wife explained that her friend (living in Bohol) told her not to pay more than 1,800p or she'd find someone that she knew for us...... then the price fell accordingly.

We settled on 2,000p (.... and he got his river boat free lunch & commision for persauding us to use one specific company vs another), and we gave him 2,250p at the end of the day.

Im glad that you got such a good deal.. Might be a good idea for us to get a small collection of trusted drivers that we can recommend at a fixed price for forum members visiting Bohol and other parts of the R.P.
My mate here has a 12 seater van.. Last week he bought 4 new tires for 10 k and paid his fully comprehensive insurance which is part of his installment plan agreement.. 25k.. His A/C sprung a leak..Another 6 k and on and on it goes..
Ive told him in the past that he is better off giving the work to the Filipino drivers and keeping his vehicle for personal use..
I`ll forward any recommendations to him posted here!
