A bit of cheap furniture and a lick of paint can transform a place. :D

For a furnished two bedroom apartment that includes water, cable TV and WiFi, a monthly rental of Php 13,500 in a gated and guarded subdivision of a modern urbanised area is actually pretty good value.

For the amount being charged in rent, you're not going to get a 60" LED TV!

Out of all the properties that are available to rent, why showcase this one? Is this part of your vendetta against Boots? In case you've forgotten, he and his family live on Panglao Island whereas it would appear that the owner of this apartment (Anna) lives close to it in Imus.

Ah so clearly people don't have a right to advertise, don't have a freaking right to make a living, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!

And yes you can't answer and I am starting to like it that way.

And yes 'YOU' advertise on the internet Mr 'Ash' don't tell me you don't, 'support of and mentoring', and yes that site is a form of advertising, one that I might say I don't actually use.

And you know something, you are a snob, a mayabang stuck up prude with a thoroughly nasty streak which is a great shame as you could so easily be a good ordinary tolerant human being, but you aren't.

Me I would be more than happy with a place like that, I rent something bigger for a little less but I got lucky when I got our place.

Oh and yeah I'm leaving these links here and I really hope he gets some sales from them!

There is a good chance given how things are going at the moment that I might even be in touch with him myself!

edit: I was asked to remove the links, once I understood the reason, I didn't hesitate.

Words are cheap Mr 'Ash', you were causing offense at a very personal level, but you don't have the imagination to think that far ahead do you.

It would seem to me that one can get more for one's rental Pound in the NCR than in (say) Cebu or Davao. Half-decent unfurnished properties here start at 25k and water, cable/satellite TV and WiFi would not be included.

We're extremely lucky in that we're renting a 2 bed house set in 1200 sq.metres of garden and the house is surrounded by tall shade trees including a very productive Mango tree! The owner is Swiss and the house is built and equipped to a very high standard. We're paying 25k for it on a minimum of a one year lease but our contract automatically renews at the same rent - rents tend to increase by at least 10% per annum.

Our rent has been 9000 a month since 2008, if we want a new contract the rent will change, so I am not changing the current contract.

You have a much better deal than us but you are paying for a lot of land, what is the floor area of the house? Ours is about 90 sqm but we have no other ground.

I am envious though, I remember your pictures ;) :)

25K at current exchange rates is out of the question for me sadly, my pal in Makati is paying at that level but he wants to find something cheaper if he possibly can.

It sounds as though you too have a decent landlord - no rent increase over seven years?! Almost unheard of!!

Our house is about the same square meterage but that does include quite a large terrace that's roofed but otherwise open to the elements - we have two (oldish) sofas and BBQ grill out there (as well as a growing collection of kids' toys!). Both bedrooms have their own CR with heated showers - and let me tell you, you do need the heaters! Davao's water is artesian and our subdivision is right next to one of the city's wells: the water is often icy cold, especially first thing in the morning.

Our rent - 25k - is low by Davao's standards. You can find properties for less but they will all be old, possibly all-wood construction with uninsulated (and leaky) tin roofs. We were paying the same rent for a similarly-sized property - but with a much smaller garden area - in Cebu back in 2010. Mind you, we were offered a fully-furnished and equipped 4 bed, two floor penthouse condo in Nivel Hills, above Cebu City, for the eye-wateringly high rent of 100k a month!
