They're expanding everywhere! I can't see how the mascot will thrive in the UK - Feels like Ronald McDonald clown of the 90s and that went with the times.

Oddly enough there isn't one here in Canadas capital city despite a large pinoy population, though Toronto and the GTA with a pinoy population of roughly 280,000 has 11 or so J/B stores, I know a few people who have made the 10-11 hour round trip to eat a chicken joy

The Philippines is full of Jollibee outlets, some of the people I saw there in a Jollibee a couple of weeks ago were getting chubby a little bit but tiny compared to this picture.

In truth while you occasionally see a fat Filipino, they stand out because the vast majority are not fat, some are chubby now but not specifically because of Jolibee to my mind.

Chow King, didn't see any fat diners.

My kids in row 2, no young person on that ride or in the queue was really fat, one chubby girl in row 5.

Gilligan's it got busier later but none of the customers were truly fat, the lady behind Janna has a bit of a chin but that's about it.

No fat kids on this ride

No fat kids or adults when walking through the University and Senior High School that we registered my son at.

Never saw anyone fat on a Jeepney, I'm probably the fattest person I've ever seen on a Jeepney, at least I am not as fat as I was for most of my time in the Philippines in the past, here we are in Cafe Adriatico a couple of weeks back, everyone else in the restaurant enjoying a nice meal was pretty good looking and fairly healthy. (yeah I had a beer :))

Yes there are problems in the Phils diabetes is a big problem and there are a lot of people who qualify as obese but it's nowhere near as noticeable as it is here.

I have seen lots of fatties in the Philippines, jollibee isn't exactly the healthiest of foods, and yup I am aware of diabetes in the PI, my kid did a study of it I think?

Screenshot_20220610_181123.jpg IMG_20220610_180947.jpg Percentage is bound to have risen but over 36% in 2019.i just took this torso shot of some people I know on a beach, those moobs are on 20'ish year old guy  some of the group are roly-poleys, all eat jollibee but should eat salad as even at their age they have health issues, one who is morbidly obese broke his ankle trying to play basketball a few week

So have I, but we filter for it, our minds emphasise those that we see, we internally perceive and exaggerate how bad it is because we are filtering what we see through a lens of expectation, i.e. our cognitive bias.

No they just shouldn't eat the bread or the chips the rest of it won't make them get big.

One in three obese Filipinos does not ring true to me, I am not seeing that when I am out there and this is in the big cities where they have some cash to eat, one in three obese Brits does ring true but even here you would need to go to a pub to see that kind of statistical spread (pardon the pun) I don't see those kind of numbers while driving on the way to work in the morning even here in the North West of England.

I'm still overweight and technically still obese but borderline now, I could accept that a lot of Filipinos are bigger than they were and that might define them as being overweight but I would like to see numbers stating exactly what proportion were obese.

Obese and fat are not the same thing.

My kids love this wee lad, Zane, he is probably obese for his age which is around about 5 years old, his mum was the skinniest wee lassie when we were looking after her when she lived with us 16 years ago but she's quite chubby now. Nanay in the background is 83 the fat she carries now is a result of her entire life and child bearing, she's naturally thin.

The wee lad is a lot of fun great wee personality.

There is an active desire to be not skinny, it's seen as a sign of success and wealth, it's not good for them but they won't wake up to that for a few more generations.
