If you have any direct contact with subseastu or know anyone that does, can you tell them to contact subseastu? His symptoms sound very worrying to me. If he has acute angle glaucoma in one eye, he is at high risk of developing it in his other eye too. Such symptoms should never be ignored. I wonder if he should be travelling by plane at all if he really does have this condition? He may need the laser surgery to alleviate the condition.

Blimey some worrying things been written here! Thank you all for your concern. Howerd, I was checked over by our medic on board and he went through all the (though limited) tests he could on board. I took mediction for my symtoms and they have greatly improved. We were both concerned about things ranging from mini stroke to tumour to bleedout pressing on the optic nerve. He tested my peripheral vision and to behonest was impressed by it. The big problem here is the fact I'm offshore Mozambique and any medical assistance of any size is a helicopter then 3 hour plane ride to Johanesberg. I'm paying off thursday and going to the UK anyway for an eyesight test. I do hope its not what you say it could be Howerd but i will bear it in mind. To be honest I think its probably just eye strain. I sit looking at screens for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for a month at a time and its been been slowly getting worse for the last 4 years. For information I'm 39

I know the one Stu. Hot work permit for a curry. Down to balast control. :D

Or more realistically, hot work permit for a camera on deck.

I'm actually having a real hard time adjusting to turning 40 next year. Just feel like like I'm half way (if I'm lucky) and not achieved all I wanted to by now. Too much time being pissed in various parts of the world......if only I could remember half of it!!!

I'm an international offshore oil worker!!! I cant be seen in anytyhing that costs a tenner!!! I tried the OIM's glasses on and his are just +0.25 and they seemed to make a difference. Think thats a reasonable place to start.
