Thanks Jim, good job I have a big house, I can go to the 3rd floor roof top and chill out or have a hour in bed in the afternoon, and in the morning stroll about the compound drinking coffee.

I think I remember you saying you thought you had made the house too big many years ago, but certainly a bit of good luck now :)

Yes of course, but guns are here to stay unfortunately. Most expats know it's better to "turn the other cheek" Filipinos hate to lose face.

    Understand Jim.
I know this from my wife
I suppose a drunken expat with a bad attitude in the Philippines leaves himself open to a big problem.

My kids uncle, very well known in Davao because of his job, friend of Duterte from when Duterte was mayor, was ambushed, shot a number of times, nice collection of scars, and he also has a large firearm collection.I asked him what happened to the guy who shot him...……….filipinos don't like to lose face.

Lolas closed the beach down, its surrounded by a fence and all the family have houses within it, plus there's guards at the main gate and a good number of workers, but it's as locked down as it can be, a friend who lives on siquijor however has neighbours and kids in and out of his house all day long even at this current time.

Minimum wage in manila last year was 500 peso a day, but it's not always adhered to.
