A relative of mine is in south Tyneside hospital with coronavirus, had three tests two were negative the third was positive?Hardly ever leaves sunderland but she visited harry potter world at warner bros studio recently, its the only place the family can think of where she has mingled with crowds and people outside of her immediate area.Out of 270+ people diagnosed with the virus in the UK she is one of the unlucky ones.

Self isolating? She is in south Tyneside hospital, thats isolation enough, her husband is self-isolating though, but on the estate they live I am sure there will always be people at the door as its that type of community.

The situation in Italy is getting more and more difficult.
    Over 400 deaths..

A couple of confirmed cases in my hometown, just south of Rome.
Getting worried about family and friends...

This is what I fear will happen anywhere else which does not already have high rates of transmission and why I suspect that my trip to the Philippines will be cancelled one way or another.

I should also say that I think they are taking a sensible precaution at this point, I think we should all be doing that now.

Why is it that people always mention cancelling or hold behind closed doors football games ?, just held Crufts over the long weekend where many thousands worldwide visited primarily mixing indoors, The Cheltenham Festival begins today where i read some 125,000 people will be visiting over the 4 day festival, its not the congregating thats the issue, its the spreading the virus around the country/world thats the issue, Pop concerts still seem to be going ahead at this moment in time, but no primarily football which is predominently supported by british fans again gets mentioned for the chop.

    Hi Heathen,
    You are correct.
Every event over a certain amount of people should be cancelled, whatever the financial impact is. At least play sports games without crowds and stream them.
    Peoples' lives matter.

When I was a toddler in Liverpool I remember that community spirit; people bringing an empty cup for some sugar.
It seemed to disappear as the country became more affluent.

Yeah a bit of a 'wow' moment, but likely very overdue, and overdue here.
