The thing about vaccination queues is that when you go to get vaccinated that might be the first time in many many months that you are exposed to a large population of other people, in the UK, at least at my local medical centre, they did a pretty good job of distancing people on the way into the vaccination room, the room itself was not super well ventilated but it was not bad.

In your case it will be a large space and probably hopefully air conditioned, hot breath aerosols should rise and disperse in a cold environment, you do want to minimise the time spent in that shared space and definitely use a face shield and mask, mask and goggles would be better but they steam up so fast they are not practical for most people.

I would not leave it too long either as they might run out of vaccine supplies, best to get the protection of the first dose as early as you can even if the second dose arrives a bit later.

And I take your point you don't want to be listening to gabby Kano's loudly spreading virus aerosols in their non stop self congratulation :)

Went there this morning 7am to beat the crowd(opens 9am so about 6 in front of me. After two hours waiting the lady finally announced that no vaccines for seniors
today, we are doing frontliners second jab. :)

And after talking to the lady in charge she said I have to go to the next town and register with my local barangay captain, went there and she is in isolation, and said wait for the mid-wife:eek:

No one has let the residents know there are covid -19 vacs. They let a few know by word of mouth to avoid a mad rush. (bamboo telegraph)

    More fun in the Philippines.

Wife went asking locals if they had the jab or know anything about vaccinations, nobody knew anything or had the jab, this was where we live in a small community in the jungle.
Got a feeling we are going to be neglected. This is not how it should work everyone should have the jab other wise it's pointless.
    Edit.
Not only our barangay captain is in isolation. But the Mayor of Dumaguete has covid-19 Asymptomatic. It's getting worse, more cases.

    So
Sorry to hear that Jim, and it makes it worse that the information is wrong and that to get better info you need to expose yourself to more people, that's the last thing you want.

    Beggars can't be choosers.
I think we are being offered Sinovac. 50-60% efficacy. Oh well better than nothing, If I keep my fitness-diet up I might be okay if I catch covid-19. I'm staying in the house as much as possible but I need to go out to pay bills and buy food.

Against the Indian variant the AZ vaccine can be as low as 60% effective after second dose, some recent work hints at it being higher than that but it is not as good as the Pfizer, however there is not a lot in it.

The real protection that we all get is from everyone else's vaccination, no one knows if they are a one of the small number of vaccine failures who failed to mount an antibody response when injected, and people with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions or with weakened immune systems due to cancer treatment are turning out to be vaccine failures.

HIV patients appear to be doing ok but a lot of other people with one condition or another are turning out to be unprotected and for those people basically our vaccinations are protecting them, and when I go back to the office it's my colleagues who are protecting me and thankfully they are all vaccinated now, although one of them has 10 weeks more to go before he will be fully protected.

Anything is better than nothing but eventually none of these vaccines will work, hopefully we won't be far behind with the next round of vaccines at that point.

Can't believe what I saw this morning while shopping, a foreigner walking around the grocers with his face mask around his chin and face shield up. Felt like yelling at him but did not want to cause a scene.
Same when he was at check-out, leaning over to talk to the check-out girl. Idiot.

Unlike yourself or @oss I have been mingling with a whole range of work colleagues on and off over the months of the pandemic. What has been notably rife is that either masks are absent or in effectively worn (either on chin or under nose). Mask wearing practices by employees in a number of larger firms has been pathetically poor and without social distancing being adequately applied. Whether I have caught Covid or not I do not know. However I am totally convinced that my immunity to the extremes of Covid 19 have been high throughout and having had the AZ vaccination twice I now have both belt and braces.
Over the time frame my daughter has been trotting back and forth to school each day and my wife has been trotting into work every day. My wife is only getting around to being vaccinated next week. So the chances of me having been exposed to it one way or another or one time or another have been very high.

Unlike @oss most of my work colleagues, my wife’s work colleagues and of course my daughters class mates have not had the jab.

It is very interesting comparing different circumstances and strategies.

At long last I am now back to working from home for my original employer continue where I left off pre pandemic, so my exposure to Covid 19 has only just now been radically reduced.

I was shocked this morning, found out a mate of mine from the same town Bacong, collapsed and not eaten for 4 days. Went to the hospital and the doctor said he had covid-19 without giving him a covid test!
He had to pay the staff 3,500 P for whatever it was plus doctor fees. He is only 58 years old and don't have any income relies on his savings.
He walked out of the hospital and now is isolating in his home, not sure if he has covid or not he never leaves the house apart from shopping. I know he has a heart condition maybe low BP?

Inoculation yesterday, no rhyme nor reason to the process it seems, last week 80+ year olds, this week 26 year olds, what % of the population have been vaccinated so far?

Both Mrs Ash (34) here in the U.K. and her mom (60s) in the Philippines, are having the Covid vaccine on the same day i.e. today. We don’t know yet which vaccine each will be given.
