    Fever.
Last night went to bed early, feeling feverish all night and still got a fever today. Had the covid-19 jabs (sinovac) 7 weeks ago. Taking paracetamol to ease the fever. I don't want to go to hospital I already know what they will say.
I think its flu but one can't be too sure. Had dengue fever it's the same but no rash on my body, and can't have it 3 x times.
I'm re-hydrating drinking loads of water and electrolytes.

A personal thing Jim, I don't like taking paracetamol unless the fever is close to dangerous levels, fever is your body's way of destroying invaders and of promoting the immune system it is one of the tools in your armoury.

Official opinion is split on this a lot of doctors subscribe to the fever is bad idea treat it with antipyretics, but quite a lot of other doctors prefer to let fever run it's course.

Hope you get better soon, did you have both doses of the Sinovac vaccine?

Even one should offer some degree against the worst possible symptoms if it is Covid but you are right there are a lot of other viruses doing the rounds and you might have something else.

Agree with keeping your fluids up!

If it’s any consolation Jim, I just visited my GP surgery yesterday with a lump growing just under my chin on the LHS. They aren’t sure what it is though they have an idea what it might be. It seems to be where the saliva ducts lay and sometimes inflate like a small balloon. Am taking antibiotics to see if that sorts it out. Seemingly the saliva ducts can block up causing similar symptoms.

I think they now try and rule in/out the chances of Covid related symptoms from first off. I was told it was unlikely though. Could be vaccine related o_O though probably not. But all possibilities cross ones mind.

All blood tests came back normal.

    It’s a blocked submandibular gland.

So it’s crocks corner on British Filipino. OSS’s fistula, my blocked submandibular and Jim’s virus.

Feeling a little better but still not eating anything. Wife found a rash on my back could be Dengue again.

Covid can also produce a rash although it is less likely to do so in someone who is vaccinated.

Could be the flu I always feel rotten and don't want to eat with the flu or with a bad chest cold.

Nothing to do with the Philippines but my golf ball sized growth under the chin has now reversed after antibiotics. Thankfully. :like:

Mrs R's family has had a rough time as of late. On Saturday, we learned that Tito Ramon had died. This was quite a shock as he had been in decent health, was well educated and should have had access to good healthcare. He was a bit fat, but nothing major. Aged mid 50s.

The cause of death is apparently pneumonia. How accurate this is, I don't know.

Unfortunately, on his FB profile, it did not take long for the conspiracy theorists to pop up. Lots and lots of posts sharing "information" of people who died following Covid vaccines. It turns out that Ramon was actually unvaccinated.

Covid, pneumonia, who knows? Just a bit of an indictment on the vaccine roll out in the Philippines and the brainwashed fools on Facebook. I wish developed countries had not stockpiled the available vaccines and had fairly distributed to developing countries.

Sorry to hear this, my condolences. I thought the vaccine was available all over the Philippines, wife's had hers and she is only 53 I had mine 10 weeks ago being a senior.

Must admit, I'm making the assumption that Tito Ramon wanted the vaccine. His work took him to Israel, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia (I too never fully understood how he managed that) so the vaccine would surely have been needed when he went back out to the field. Whether he was privately a rabid anti-vaxxer or sceptic, I don't know. Mrs R's mother (Ramon's cousin) who lived in the same province but different town (Capas Vs Gerona, Tarlac) had her shot several weeks ago.

He may have felt he was fit enough for the virus to bounce off him?

It's possible. Personally, I never feared Covid. Was (and still am) confident that it would not see me off. Just took my trial vaccine as it was the sensible thing to do. I'm more fearful of unwittingly passing the virus on to my grandmother. This concern obviously still exists even after we've all been vaccinated.

If Ramon did have the self belief that he would be too strong or he got enough Vitamin D etc outdoors, then he and any other adult in their 50s is a clown. Must point out that this is said in the current knowledge that Ramon died of pneumonia and not Covid. He became ill, declined and died very rapidly over the span of 3 days. I don't know enough about either disease to say if this is typical of pneumonia or Covid.

My understanding is that it is the latter that leads to the former. Unfortunately. Covid leads to pneumonia ultimately, when in its most extreme form.
