That's sounds an easy rule to circumvent that it doesn't actually sound like it's worth implementing. I wouldn't disagree, live your life on your own terms as long as your not hurting anyone else

I seem to have lost a post?

Ah well, I meant to say that one outcome of "wherever one ends up on ones own adventure" will imply that the times before that were happy, the other outcome might imply that those times were not so happy, the end of the journey can only happen after choices were made that took you there, those choices are what is important and those choices are guided by ones current hopes and dreams.

Insurance, for foreigners living overseas, especially for us that have NHS in UK. We are so used to having it for granted. I am going over for a few months and my wife is going over indefinitely, maybe for ever. I have to work for another few years, to have financial cover. Our house should be ready to move in, Just the health Insurance gives me worrying thoughts. There's Phil health, but that's only basic cover.

If you go to live in the Philippines its only a matter of time before you need hospital treatment, this should be a major consideration before moving there even if you are in excellent health before you go.

There is a lot to be said for the good old NHS even though the service isn't what it once was.

Good idea to get complete medical cover in the Philippines, something you have to be able to afford.

    Erm?

Hang on, I have two young UK pals that have been out there for about 7 years, no hospital so far, me I've been in hospital twice in my life, once when I was 19 and the second time when I had a Vasectomy aged 50, now ok right now I could do with getting a couple of thing fixed but that is no more likely here than there.

Visits to the GP well yes they will happen but the GP is pretty cheap and there are no prescription charges as such over there, you just go to the chemist and pay the going rate for what you need, here we pay, in prescription charges, well over the odds for antibiotics for the common ailments that most people experience year to year.

Yeah you don't want to have a chronic illness in Philippines but othere stuff is not so bad.

If you live in the Philippines then you owe it to your family back in the UK to be well insured to avoid the situation this poor fellow is in. I was last in hospital 47 years ago at the age of 6 but I could be in again tomorrow, at the end of the day its usually old cars that we see broken down on the hard shoulder not new ones :)

No you don't, you simply tell them "thanks for the great time I had here and now I'm off to foreign climbs, anything happens to me and it's not your problem, cheers folks!"

When I live there permanently, the wife and I will be fully covered, but as one gets older the premium goes higher. I'm 60, wife's 47, don't know if it's worth insuring one's self when or if I reach 75. Might just come back to the UK, that's if they will have me lol, or just let nature takes its way and see you on the flip side. Before I go will let my relatives not to have my body brought back, just throw me in a hole.

Are you saying you are an old banger?

But I do agree. The older we get the more likely and more frequently the need.
