Definitely. Just keep on punching and you'll hit at least one.

I remember back then I was applying for 20 jobs a day.
But that's the good thing here in UK, they have lots of jobs.

And don't be afraid to talk about salary if they ask you about expectations. The British are not like us Pinoys who are shy to talk about money.

December and January will be a great time to get hired as there will be lots of vacancies due to the holiday season.

    Reed too.

I agree, don't be afraid to talk money even before the interview stage, if the salary isn't agreeable then you're just wasting each others time. Always a tricky one though, I have always hated the question "how much money are you looking for" as you never know if you are selling yourself short or putting yourself out of the frame, that's where a little company research comes in.

I firmly believe that you Filipinos should aim high and apply for jobs at the level you had in the Philippines, you never know your luck. I think time spent on a good cover letter along with the CV is important, it gives you chance to explain to the prospective employer how you could fit into their organisation.

I think once you've secured that first job in the UK and gain a couple of years experience then you're up and running and stand a much better chance of securing a better position elsewhere.

Don't be disheartened if its taking a long time to find a job, it takes a long time for us Brits too to find a suitable job.

    There's a website called Payscale.

You just type the job position, and it will show you the salary ranges of that within the UK (min, median, max).

Also the perks/benefits usually associated with the job.

Yep, agree with salary negotiation. Again, never short change yourself. It isn't being proud but knowing what you are worth. I negotiated their offer and it worked to my favor. Even though husband said it already is a great offer, I still based it off of my job description.

Seems like there are more things to do. The visa thing is just the tip of the iceberg. :(

    1. National Insurance Number
    2. Finding a GP
    3. Finding a dentist
    4. Opening a bank account.
    5. Finding a job.
    6. Learning how to navigate around UK
    7. Learn how to drive.
    8. Dealing with the British and their quirks

It will be easier for you since you have your husband to guide you.

I had to do everything from scratch.

    But you'll get there.

And don't forget the things to do before those that you mentioned..
    1. Meet the family and friends in UK.
    2. Do winter clothes shopping
    3. Prepare tons of stuff for the wedding.
    4. Hit the gym
    5. Get married.

I'm getting stressed just looking at it but knowing that I'll have my partner to do them with makes it easier.
