We will be moving to a new stadium in a few years. I don't think statues are built during the lifetimes of subjects, so I hope it will be fifty years away before that happens and that we can win many trophies with Carlo in Bramley Moore Dock stadium in that timeframe. Artist's impression: This will do for now:
Yup he's gone ... https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/57319559 I was surprised he took the job in the first place... It's very difficult for the clubs outside of the top 4-6 to attract and keep the better players and managers now - maybe they need to look for someone like Brendan Rodgers or David Moyes... oops... they tried that already!
I think they may have a difficult period in front of them. Depending on who they appoint what is the next transfer period going to look like? Players who signed for Carlo will they want to stick around? Players who were there pre Carlo and stuck around because he came in, what now? Future transfer targets. I predict for next year a lesser finish than the 10th they achieved this time.
I find Carlo's return to Real, kind of a step back, and could turn counterproductive, as we don't yet know the extent of punishment UEFA is going to give to the last 3 of the Super League founding teams. I have lost a lot of respect for the man. I can understand the mercenary nature of the job, but in this case I am not prepared to excuse him. He had the perfect chance to coach half underdogs to greatness but in the end chose to give up and embrace an uncertain future witha team that may be yesterday's news.
Driving down through Merseyside yesterday, came across this old lady trying to cross the road. I thought to myself I’d better do the decent thing so I stopped, got out the cab, and went over to her. “Can you manage??” I asked “Yes, she replied but I don’t want the Everton job!!”..
