    He has resigned, and gone..............:erm:

Thanks to the traditional British trait of undermining the autorithy of the national Team manager, the FA
proudly got rid of the most successful coach it ever appointed.... And the stats speak for themselves....

Say what you want, but the guy is right, "innocent until proven guilty" means exactly what is says on the tin...
    But not for the FA.

He stuck for his captain, decided that enough was enough, and resigned with honour, especially after being vilified by the media, so often for sensationalism... And newspapers sales...
The only person that could gel this bunch of donkeys into some kind of performance has left the building....

    Well done FA...............

    Now what....???

    Hodgson... Redknapp....???

    Shearer... ???

    Or Keegan again....???

They are all clamoring for an Englishman to take the rein....

Who exactly has got the balls to take the job...???

And if someone does, it won't be for national pride, it will be for the money only...

Rumours I've heard (according to Italian press) is that he was looking for a way out for a while due to upcoming euro 2012 and the expected shambles that it would produce. It not a very nice job to have to be honest is it with the way the english press behave. Couple that with a team populated by has-beans and I don't envy the person that takes it, Saying that I'm sure they'd knock out a fantastic pay deal. Look what Sven was given! Wasn't he paid for the 2 years after he left the post, he knows how to bang out a contract!!

Thank God he's gone. Another in a long line of awful, clueless England managers - the last one with any knowledge of how to pick a team was Venables! The brainless morons who make the decisions ignored Cloughie - I have no hope for the future unless they appoint Harry - a man who knows how to pick a football team.

I await your comments and/or criticisms!!

I echo all of these comments.

I have lost confidence in the national team, it seems years since we used to play well and the influx of foreigners to all divisions after £££ has not helped.

There are millions of armchair fans and attendances are dropping.

If Redknapp gets in, I won't be excited, I haven't been excited since I don't know when.

I'd have Venables back but I don't think the stuffy FA would accept him.
They have lurched from one calamity to the next and it just gets worse.

They must make a good choice one day

I am clueless about football, but thought in interesting that Harry Redknapp was cleared of fraud at the same time as Capello resigned.

I'm sure the two things aren't related! According to the beeb Capello is one of our most successful managers which is a bit worrying. My vote is for Redknapp, just hope he follows the rigby teams lead and try some new players who actually want to play for the national side rather than the hasbeens that think they deserve it.

The stats are clear. Capello was the most successful manager by far....:erm:

The FA, are doing a bit of the Abramovitch... Get rid of the good one in favour of donkeys... :erm:

And Harry doesn't inspire me with any trust he knows what the country expects from him...

Capello will sit it out for a year or two, and then maybe will manage something like real Madrid, or the Italian National 11.........

Sorry Al, but I must disagree.

Nothing to do with being a fellow italian, just common sense that england fans lack of.

In 2010 there was too much infighting within the camp, and Capello was just as powerless as everybody else but the players themselves.
He was not aware that mr clean "Stevie" was an "allegedly" worse philanderer than Terry...
And the players in the know, failed to communicate that little fact.... So the captain's armband was given to the wrong person.
A super injunction is still standing on an unreported alleged teenage pregnancy, but by now the sprog should have been dropped, tho... And lots of rumours are going aroung the Pool about who the daddy is...

So two camps formed, 1 supporting Terry, and 1 supporting the new captain, and that rivalry spilled out on the playing field to the result we all know...

But obviously at the end of the day the Manager carries the can for the useless team of overpaid primadonnas.

I know he will never get the job and he will not be thought of for it but I would like to see Joe Royle in the frame.
I have never heard any manager talk more sense about football and man-management.

I was sorry he was kicked out of Everton by Peter Johnson and I'd have him back at Everton in a shot also.

England are so boring and have been for donkey's years.

    Good!

    Never did rate him myself.

    That's the one imo :like:

It's gonna be hard for him to say no, but he actually should seriously consider if it's really what he wants and if it's really where his strengths are.

But then again what do I know.
