Alas no, although the Aglipayans (Iglesia Filipina Independente - founded by Grigorio Aglipay at the time of the Revolution) are very similar and in fact the two communions are more or less merged in the Philippines today.

The term Episcopalian is used in the USA and in England and some other countries we call it the Anglican Church or the Church of England.

The idea behind both the Aglipayans and the Episcopalians is somewhat similar - they are "Catholic" (open to all) and "Apostolic" (they have Bishops and and hierarchy which claims descent from the Apostles but they do not give allegiance to the Pope in Rome unlike the Roman Catholic church which is somewhat similar. Episcopalian churches can vary from "high" ("more Catholic than the Pope!") to "low"
(sometimes rudely called "happy clappy" and much like the Born Again churches).

Uhuh. Thanks for the information. I believe I read something about the Aglipayan church similar to what you told me in a Philippine History textbook. Plus some protest movements of the founder.

My boxing coach/instructor back in Sydney is also an Anglican priest. His name is Dave Smith.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Smith_(priest)

Funny guy he is. One Sunday, I came in very early at the gym, and no one was there yet. I knew that Father Dave was still conducting a sermon/mass at the church just beside the gym. Since I didn't have anything to do, I came in and attended the mass.

Fast forward after, we went to the gym. Father Dave took off his robe, and his cross necklace. He was already dressed up for boxing: a singlet, boxing shorts and boots.

After the whole circuit: jog, stretching, skipping ropes, speed ball, heavy bag, etc. then came in the sparring. First one was me versus him.

    He told me,

    'Ready to rumble, Andrew?'

And I still remembered what he said during the mass. So I answered,

    'Peace be with you.'

    HAhahahhahahahahahah...
