I enjoyed all of their earlier stuff up to and including Quadrophenia. In particular Quadrophenia and Tommy and also My Generation. The whole lot up till 73.

I quite agree and I can also see a side to his selection that raises a smile. He is of course British with Pakistani ethnicity.

And going back to the OP, I had to fill a form out at my daughter’s school that sought to identify parent’s citizenship, religion and ethnicity and languages spoken aswell as that of our daughters. I was surprised to find that was common practise these days but only just realised recently that they are going to put a stop to that.

I wonder how many other Brit / Fil parents have had to fill out such a form for their children’s school.

I had to fill them out for my two Filipino stepchildren and the elder of my two half-Filipino sons.

(Just waiting for the 'racist' taunts on here now  )

Oh, it's ok, most of the PC rent-a mob I have on 'ignore' . :)

I agree ban him, I'm fine with contrary opinions but if someone then blocks people whose opinion they don't like then they are obviously a racist and a coward. I've yet to see a racists refuse a pakistani doctor saving their life. I live in hope though.

I remember when my kids were small I was constantly having to state their ethnicity. I got pretty fed up of having to tick "mixed race other" as they clearly weren't important enough to have their own tick box.

    “Mixed race other”

Yes I had forgotten that one.

I believe we can simply leave the box empty or similar. I filled it out though as I didn’t want to rock the boat with the teachers. In hindsight maybe I should have declined.

I think it works both ways. And depends how the info is used. It can help the teaching staff, I am sure and help the kids. But I think like you, the expression “mixed race other” is a bit unpalatable.

Mica's passport photo is her in "male" mode. You would not believe the issue we have going through passport control, especially when you come across a bigot. LHR were great though.

Thats actually called a two spirit person ( not the jedi part ). Transgender was common amongst native americans before columbus turned up and they were referred to as people with two spirits, a male and a female one. It was quite normal until the christians missionaries turned up and stopped it. Its now making a comeback as a term.

Imagine this scenario, which is not beyond the realms of possibility in the future.

A Javid v Khan general election. They would be heads exploding in certain societies if thst happened!
