Hello BF Friends! As some of you know that I am already granted entry in the UK under Fiancée Visa/Settlement for Marriage on September 2014, we are on the process of applying for my first Further Leave to Remain FLR (M).

There are some sections in the form ( https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/370360/FLR_M__11-14.pdf ) that my husband and I find confusing. Hope you could enlighten us with these:

    1.)
On Section 6--Your Relationship To Your Sponsor
    Contact With Sponsor
6.5 How do you keep in touch with your sponsor?

To be honest, I don't know what to write since we are living together the moment I arrived. We are also not sure if this question pertains to our communication whilst I'm still in the Philippines.

    2.)
    6.8
Add all addresses you and your sponsor have lived at in the 2 years preceding this application if you have lived at your current address with your sponsor for less than 2 years.

Am I correct to put my address in the Philippines?

    3.)
    Section 9-- Biometric Residence Permit

9.12 Have you had your fingerprints taken as part of a previous UK immigration application made in the UK or abroad?

9.15 Give details of the British diplomatic post(s) involved if the application(s) was or were made abroad

This is also confusing for the both of us. Is the Entry clearance visa application part of the previous UK Immigration application and to answer part 9.15 is the GWF Reference number in VFS?

    4.)
Can a 3rd party pay for our application fees? My husband's mum wants to pay for it as a wedding gift.

I hope you guys can help us. Thanks in advance!

    Anne

Looking at mine, from last year, I don't have these questions. They've obviously changed it.

I would say: How do you keep in contact? Put "Live together"

6.8. I'd say put your address. It won't do any harm if you do, but they might have wanted if if you don't!

@Timmers , how much will be the fees again? We opt for premium service. I believe there will be additional fees for my BRP, is that correct?

Also, is it difficult to set an appointment? Let's say in 2 weeks time?

The cost for the premium service is just over £1000 and the BRP is included in the cost. They will do your biometrics when you attend and you will receive the BRP card in the post a few weeks later.

Availability will probably depend on which office you are planning to use, I got my appointment in two days (Liverpool) so I'm pretty confident you wont have to wait long. Note that you can choose from any of the premium service offices throughout the UK, obviously you will choose the local one but that option is there for lets say you're in a hurry for the FLR and your local office is fully booked up. When you book your appointment online a calendar will pop up showing you all the available days.

Note, you will be able to apply for NI number once you have the BRP, you'll be running around the wards of Gloucester General Hospital before you know it.

    And finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :)

Is premium service if you go personally and get it on the day? Is that over £1000 now?

Yes, its quite expensive, I checked my credit card statement to be sure, getting it by post costs £601.00 and in addition you will have to pay at the Post Office to get your Biometrics done, certain POs offer the Biometrics service. I think if you apply for the FLR by post, the UKVI will then send you a reference letter stating that your FLR has been approved and you take the letter to the PO to get the Biometrics done.

Its about £400.00 cheaper applying for the FLR by post but if you are like me you want to get it over and done with, it can take up to three months apparently applying by post.

I think the premium service is a must if its the first FLR and you want to get the missus out of the door working as soon as possible :D

    I have just put a link below to find your nearest Post Office that offers the Biometric service for anyone that's interested;

I know. I'm wondering whether to do the next one by post because it's the middle one, but I still think I'd rather just get it all done in one.

I was thinking the same, but I bet as it gets nearer the time we both go for the premium service because like you said. "its good to get it out of the way".

Why worry for weeks on end waiting for the decision to come by post when you can just worry for one day in the comfort of the UKVI office :D

And we get a day out in sunny Croydon into the bargain.

I meant to mention that too, you can turn the visa submission into an overnighter, because when you get the visa approved its nice to go and celebrate.

Awww. Thanks for the greetings, Timmers!

I just created an account at https://apply.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/iapply.portal and I've seen the calendar you were referring to. We will go to Cardiff one of these days.

Thanks once again for all your help, Mr. Anne and I appreciate it a lot. :like:

Hello! Bumping this thread of mine as I remember someone giving us a pre-warning regarding payment of the IHS. I think it was @Methersgate . Obviously, I am new to this :p Can you remind me when exactly are we going to send the payment? Is it a separate payment or shall we pay all together upon submission of the application? We are doing the in-person (premium) service.

You will pay the surcharge at the same time you make the booking online for the premium service.

Thank you, Timmers. Is it still the same as before that you can't book an appointment unless everything has been paid for? I am getting excited to apply now :-D

Yes the same, you will pay the health surcharge at the same time when you book your premium service so you are forced into paying, print the payment details out then off you pop to secure the second and last FLR :)

I don't know about you but I'll be glad when the five years is up.

    Money well spent :)

As I recall, if you apply on line (required for the premium service) you must pay the IHS as part of the application. We made the mistake of paying it separately, so we went for the standard service.
