Hello I will soon be visiting my boyfriend in the UK from the Philippines and will be applying for a UK torist visa. I will be initially booking a two week trip but my partner has said if things go well he would like me to stay longer. If I initially tell embassy I plan to stay for only two weeks will I still be granted a six month visa that will allow me to stay longer of needed?
Look here at your original post:- http://www.british-filipino.com/index.php?threads/visit-visa-applications-evidence.10873/page-4
Thats what i failed on when tried wife and son visit visa, they said if can stay away for 6 months then you not really have strong ties back home.
i would not recommend this, you are very unlikely to get a visa first application anyway and if they think you are going to stay longer you will have no chance of getting a visa unless you are very wealthy. regards steve and liza
this was ordered by uk minister and applied to most far east countries, unless you were in the higher income bracket. regards steve
sorry you think that, but if you would like to do some research i think you will get a different picture. Visa staff are instructed to reject all applications that have even minor mistakes or not full paperwork. they are not allowed to make contact and ask for further information or confirmation. regards steve
Which is as I said elsewhere. Make mistakes you won't get a visa. Do it properly and you will. We failed first time because we made mistakes and didn't provide proper paperwork. Our own fault. Second time, we did things properly and got a visa.
I heard recently that visas for non-europeans are deliberately being restricted due to the influx of immigrants from europe which cannot be controlled.
Of course they are told to reject applications that aren't done properly and don't have the proper paperwork. It goes without saying.
Thanks guys for all the response! I appreciate it. I have another question, my boyfriend's brother who is home owner and self employed contractor will be sponsoring my travel visa. Is anyone able to confirm all the documents that he will need to provide as someone who is self employed?
To be honest steve wheeler, I really cannot understand where on earth you source such information.. Almost everything you post about immigration rules is completely incorrect and misleading. Of course it's possible that you're are being fed misinformation by others or perhaps you're completely misunderstanding the immigration rules and UKVI operational procedures. Alternatively you may, for some reason, be deliberately posting noise from the fringes just to derail other members. I would hope the latter is not the case though. Steve, what was it that attracted you to join our online community here ?
"I heard recently that visas for non-europeans are deliberately being restricted due to the influx of immigrants from europe which cannot be controlled." This is hearsay from a friend who has a friend in the UK immigration department. It may be misleading but it seems to make sense. I hope my other comment that successful first time visa applications are rare is nonsense but many people I talk to here and in the Phils think that way. Of course thinking about it logically if you are genuine, meet all the criteria, make a solid case and supply all the right info/documents there is no reason that the application will not be successful. Does anyone know of a quota for visa applications?
As I said the information you have been fed is complete nonsense. I would doubt very much much that your friend has a friend etc working in Manila Hub. Most of the caseworkers including some ECO's etc in Manila Hub are actually 'locals' and are definitely not eager to risk their jobs by contravening UKVI strict rules. I've stated this before and I'll state it again........there is no quota 'system' at all. Period. The granting of a visa is solely dependent upon compliance with visa requirement immigration rules.
