I have applied for my girlfriend to visit me for a 2 month break from the 26th January 2016, just last Thursday and I have paid for the 3-5 day decision. I have well paid job, accommodation and I have submitted evidence of all of this. My girlfriend has a good job and a leave of absence letter for the 2 month period, we have provided evidence of job, tax return, savings, leave of absence. We have also enjoyed a holiday together in Thailand together and I then traveled back to Cebu with her to meet her family, we have all supporting documents, flights, hotels etc etc. So we have all the requirements required and have submitted everything to back this up, we did our research online and also here with the great forums, I hope that you are right Micawber and there is not a policy of refusing every application as this would not be fair and just and would be a waste of my money. The government also anounced last year in August/September that 90% of all non settlement visa are successful and that they welcome visitors from the Philippines.
Here's wishing you good luck for a positive outcome. Given the information you've shared and given that the ECO can be convinced she has compelling reasons to return then I'm sure there'll be no reason the application will fall for refusal. There is no 'hidden' quota system of any kind whatsoever aimed at indiscriminate refusal or indeed granting of visa's.
Thank you Bigmac and Micawber for your positive words and you are correct there is not a quota or anything other system, it is based on the application and evidence supporting it. You will be pleased to learn that we were successful with our application and her visa was granted today and she will be travelling to the UK in 2 weeks time. I would like to thank all those that have uploaded so much information on the site, it helped us massively in starting our journey, I am sure I will searching for more once we start the process of her coming here to live.
Thank you Bambuzle, I think Bigmac is correct, it was Php 8,640.00. In my opinion it is worth doing as the wait for a decision is very stressful.
I hope Bigmac, one day to get a result on wife visa and get a photo from you a bottle of champagne lol
