Help with proof of relationship

    I reapplied but we used a solicitor. My solicitor argued that if the sponsor can support me financially then I don’t have to show any amount. The ECO was obviously playing double standard since we don’t know the rule but then when our solicitor pointed the rule we were then granted the visa. I visited the UK last year for 5 months then.

    Congratulations...

    It's a shame you had to go to the extra expense of hiring a solicitor, but it achieved the 'right' result in the end.

    We are now looking at the Fiancée Visa option, as this appears to put less emphasis on the financial status of the appliant...!

    I and my then fiancé wasn’t keen on getting the fiancé visa right away since we want to try and see what it’s like if we live together on the same roof so we tried to pursue the visit visa but it was all worth it.

    I wish I had known this when our Tourist/Visitor Visa application failed - but our Decision letter said 'No right of appeal' anyway...!

    Next year is going to be busy for us, first a Visitor Visa for May and then a Fiancee visa for September.. I can feel my stress rising already
