Greek food is amazing but sadly I have only tried their food in UK restaurants.
I have stood on Turkish mountains overlooking the Greek islands (they appear so close you feel they are Turkish) and I hope to take the family there one day.

Yes, I agree with HaloHalo - do the visa yourself.
If you get your decree absolute and find the right Filipina, don't waste money on fixers!
Everything can be done without fixers and people here will help you.

Many thanks for that. I have found the right Filipino. Yes, it is the right word. He is one in a million. I am a very lucky man. Thank you too so much for the offer of help all round. I am fairly confident that I shall need it.

I couldn't help noticing your name. Did you know of Apo Island just off the coast here in Negros Oriental?

I think you can do everything for £10,000.
Where do you live and where is your boyfriend from, Bill?

Is it a same sex relationship? If so, I don't believe you can get married in The Philippines so would have to go down the Fiance visa route.

A tourist visa cannot be converted to a fiance visa I don't believe.

Be careful with what information you get from people as I'm pretty sure that's not good advice. Perhaps someone else could confirm my opinion, but that's how I see it.

Yes you can - it's one of the few services offered by the British Embassy. Not recognised here of course.

Funnily enough....when my wife and I visited the embassy in Manila, there was a gay marriage going on in there. I had almost forgotten that.

Two females. One was British, the other Filipino.

I'm 99% certain that gay marriages have only been available at the embassy for less than six months or so. You may have visited the Embassy whilst a civil partnership ceremony was taking place.

Dont know. I do recall it happening. But at the time I was more concerned with our own circumstances. But it was my wife that was aware of the gay marriage.

I asked her just now and she said that the two women were waiting behind us to get married. I cant be certain, but that is what we remember.

We were in getting our local CNI

The law permitting same sex marriages came into force in late March 2014 for England and Wales and as recently as December for Scotland. So those ladies were about to enter a civil partnership which would not have been recognised by the Philippines authorities.

You may be able to register a civil partnership or get married at the British embassy or consulate in the Philippines.

Ah really. That's interesting. I never knew that. Can anyone do that or does at least one person need to be British?
