Hi Via welcome to the forum.

If you plan to go for a short holiday in the UK you will need to apply for a Visit Visa which will be valid for 6 months. Applying for this is very tricky. You need to establish a strong evidence (ties) that you are coming back here in the Philippines. These ties can be in a form of work, education or any owned properties on your name. Since you stated you don't have, it might be difficult to prove ties to home country.

I do have a friend however who succesfully applied for a tourist visa (she is currently in the UK) without any properties here not so much money, no savings, no job, no owned house but she got the visa succesfully. What worked for her is that she has travelled to some Asian countries before with her British partner so that showed a stamped on her passport that she came back after visiting overseas. That is also one way of proving that you plan to come back here in Pinas.

But it all really boils down to every individual circumstances. :) And all depends on the ECO of course. :frust:

You can try a visit visa, I think you will stand a chance. It's only £87 anyway so it's definitely worth a shot. :)

You have to apply in your home country which is the Philippines. What visa do you have in Malaysia btw?

You can't apply a visa from abroad (unless you have a permit to live there) you have to apply from your home country and get your biometrics done here.

    Hi,
Yes dependants visa is similar to permit to live here in Malaysia.
Is it possible to apply visit visa here at British embassy Malaysia?

Okay I wasn't sure what visa you have in Malaysia. Since you are legally residing in Malaysia (on a dependants visa) you can actually apply from there. I tried to ask about this as I wasn't sure and someone confirmed you can actually apply in Malaysia :)

I don't think you specifically need it for a visitor visa but if you're staying with husband's family in the UK for example, it won't hurt to include :)

Hi some advise please to anyone here in the forum...

When is the start date of the tourist visa? Is it when you apply or can you specify the start date?

    Thanks..

What do you mean start date? You mean validity? If it is, it depends on the ECO. Sometimes they put the date you requested and sometimes they start it on the day they made a decision.

    Hi thanks for your answer,
I mean start of 6 months visit visa. Is it immediate? Or can you defer it so that it start later.

    Thanks...

Like I said, it depends on the ECO. You will be asked on the application form as to when you want to travel to the UK so you can put the date you prefer but sometimes the ECO doesn't follow that so you just have to see.
