How is life in the UK?

Hello every one. I have a question regarding life in the UK in general: my possible job prospects, cost of living, entertainment, etc. Also my prospects on finding a British lass, especially Irish/Scottish ones because I have a thing for red hair. Hahahahhaha...

So a bit of my personal details...

So some of you might already know that I'm British by descent and currently applying for an adult UK passport. The main reason why I had applied for one was originally because of a job offer in Australia- specifically in Barrow Island. Now the catch is I have to be a permanent resident/citizen of Australia, or hold a passport from US, UK, EU, Canada, Ireland, etc. But I only hold a Philippine passport and I'm not a citizen nor a resident. Hence again the reason for the application.

But given my very long wait for a UK passport, 14 months and counting, and the current economic state of Australia, I'm planning for other routes/alternatives. Life Plan B, I like to call it.

Anyway, I am a Commerce graduate majored in Management and Marketing, and also a minor in Economics. I graduated from a university in Australia. My job roles/history revolve around business development, supply chain, and marketing from entry-level to middle management.

    So again, my questions are:

    1. What are my job prospects? Would I find it hard to get a job in the UK ?
    2. What about the costs of living?
    3. Which city in the UK would be good to live at? Which suburb/area in the UK would give me the minimal of chances to get beheaded by a Black Muslim or get blown into smithereens by a suicide bomber?
    4. Aside from drinking heavy amounts of beer, resulting in s******g your neighbor's grandmother and also forgetting about the incident and your own name the next day, what are other fun things to do while in the UK?
    5. And the most important question of all, 'What are my chances of getting with a red-haired lass in the UK that looks like this...'

The fact that your degrees were earned at an Australian university will make it much easier for you to apply for graduate entry positions than if you graduated from a Philippine university - or the document obtained from a vendor on that well-known thoroughfare in Manila.

Many vacancies are advertised in newspapers such as The Daily Telegraph, The Times and The Sunday Times but I don't think their respective online editions include this advertising. A number of employment agencies, such as Reed, will have suitable vacancies and have an online presence - Reed's is here - and you can Google the others.

Much, much higher than here! The cost of diesel can be a useful indicator; here it's about £0.55 per litre whilst the UK average price is more than double at £1.21. Public transport - particularly rail - will consume a a good part of your income and as for accommodation, rents in and around London are measured in thousands of pounds and rent monies are weighed rather than counted!

I have always found that one can enjoy a better lifestyle if one lives in the west of a country than in the east, the peoples are friendlier and the atmosphere is more relaxing. This is true of Australia, the United States and, to some extent but not as pronounced, the UK. If you want to avoid the risk of an encounter with an Oxford educated, ISIS-trained executioner, right-wing racists or champagne anarchists (led by the likes of Charlotte Church and Russell Brand) then you should avoid living in any of the major cities and consider areas such as Suffolk, west Wales, Devon or the Channel Islands.

Is there any better sport?! An alternative is the semi-organised gang warfare operations on Saturday afternoons (except in the summer) otherwise known as football matches :D.

It would probably take a few years of dating regular girls, time in which to earn enough to buy a mansion in Mayfair (or Hampstead), a stable of luxury and performance motor vehicles and perfect the phrase "Allāhu Akbar" :D.

Apologies. I don't know much about the actual culture of my father and his countrymen, other than what I could observe from my own British mates.

And all my British mates (and also my father from what I've heard) are drunks. And they do s**g a lot, more so when under the influence.

But then again, my father did move to Australia at one point and most of my British mates are ones I've met whilst in Australia...

So indeed, I might be confused... Hahahahha...

As this is a family forum, and frequented by wives and girlfriend, I would like to point out and ask nicely, if you could refrain from using any language, words or slang which may be deemed offensive by our lady members.

Swansea is not a bad place actually. It has excellent public transport and road links, beautiful scenery (once you leave the city itself), decent shopping, a fantastic football team - the Swans, and the people are typical South Walian - friendly and welcoming.

Most of the Uni Grads down my way end up in KFC on minimum wage and are by all accounts useless on the Plus side the manager was trying to get my missus to do a shift she didnt want and when she said "if you dont like it sack me" he said "I cant your the only one who knows what your doing"

Coincidence that I did work at KFC for part-time whilst I was studying in uni. back in Sydney.

Maybe it's an epiphany that it's my destiny... but hopefully not. If it is though, at least I'm experienced. Hahahahah...

Still, it beats earning 30,000 gross PHP (485 GBP a month) any time, if you'll be working here in the Philippines.

I believe in the saying that if you haven't experienced what it's like to work for minimum wage, you haven't really experienced work.
