Agree, very true. However I had a good friend who was a genuine proper redhead with long straight hair all the way to her waist 5 foot 7 inch at least, lovely lovely lass, and she loved sunbeds, I wish she didn't but she overused them and they bleached her to some extent.
You've got me mate? This is one of those, 'I'm not part of the rest of the planet moments' I know I should expect it to be something I am supposed to know but I am too much of a nerd to realise... eeek!
She's slightly red but closer to her brother's hair, she accentuated (dyed) it for the wedding, my sister was not that pleased but she suited it down to the ground, my niece is quite a character, a brilliant artist and a bit of an adventurer, as I mentioned she lives in China just now teaching English.
I don't disagree on the validity of the points raised regards OFW's but in regards to those that are degree educated, of which i was initialy talking about, It does provides them with an opportunity to exercise their learned skills in another country. If they reside in PI with a degree they aren't going to have that same opportunity. Just as a point in fact, I don't see the wage I earn as a particularly bad one but I do know that my father in law is earning more than me in UAE. Its provided him with a life that is a more comfortable than a lot of Filipinos, education for his kids, travel to the Americas and middle east. There's no doubt that ultimately it is a sacrifice being away from his family but I'm thinking that he'd choose that over a life from where he came on some little known island where opportunity is few and far between. Yes the monies go into the government coffers but does the guy who wants to give his family a potentially better life care about that, of course not, that's why there's 10 million Filipinos doing just that.
Yes, it is actually one of my plans if ever I don't get my UK passport for some reason. I'm a realistic person. You never know these days with HMPO, so it's better if you have a Plan B, or C, or D. But it's basic economics and basic logic. Why earn 50,000 PHP (708 GBP) a month as a waiter, dishwasher, kitchen help on some hotel or cruise ship, when you can earn 238,000 PHP (3372.58 GBP) and use you the knowledge and skill you earned from you education/degree. If you have a chance to earn something more, why would you not take it? Why limit yourself? I don't. And I have a lot of neighbours and friends who are OFWs. And most of them tell the same story. How they've been mistreated at work. I have a chance to bypass that, so why should I not? UNCLE!!!! I plan to make your niece very happy. Please take care of me! In exchange, I plan to give you a lifetime supply of Marmite, Cadbury and beer of your choice, when I make it big. But there's no problem with me when it comes to accents. I've got a very good ear and I can do a wicked BBC/Queen's English accent myself. And also a mean OZTRAYA! OZZIE! OZZIE! Hahahahaha...
Yeah I agree, you have a chance and a good one at that, this country is ok, I would not call it wonderful, but there are opportunities for anyone that is determined, 40 grand a year is do-able here but in the south as in London you would still be quite poor, relatively speaking, expensive place to live. However you could still have a great time on that kind of wage and you could benefit from all the chances that come from meeting new people in this world. And yeah the cruise ship thing is no panacea either, Ana's favourite nephew is working on the ships, not cruise liners though, her brothers other boy was on the ships too but got retired off them early, no one quite understands why.
Sometimes in this world, all you get is a chance. It's up to you to make good use of it, when you do get it. It depends on the work, but in general, if you're not physically fit anymore, they send you off the cruise or ships. Or if you tick off the wrong person. Is your brother-in-law overweight by any chance?
No he's not, I am though but it was actually his other son that got paid off from the cruise ships, the lad did have TB about 7 years ago but it was all fixed, we never found out why they kicked him off. By the way, I agree with your sig, when disaster is about to strike running away is best.....! In a subtle way I had to do that myself a few nights ago
Is he a ladies' man? It's quite a popular case for those who works in the ships, to intermingle with the lady guests. Hahahahah... That is my father's motto. Hahahahha... Hence, why he traveled the world and married countless wives including my mum and had countless of children. And also we experienced life in the gutter. Sick bastard... Hahahahahah...
Ah a slightly different interpretation Me I meant, if someone is trying to start a fight with you, make your point politely, but do your best to get out of there before it gets out of control
That is also one of the interpretations for the quote I guess. But it could also be applied when you're being mobbed in a busy street. Take out your wallet, throw it away, then run! No use in trying to be a hero. They're the ones who die. Hahahahahah...
It's quite better though if you don't have any money in your wallet. Whether by design, or you don't really have money.
