    It is my priority to earn enough money to support my children and my partner, when I get home I have to cook and eat, we are 8 hours apart so when I get home she is usually asleep, when she wakes up I am about to sleep, when I wake up I have to go to work to earn enough money to support my children and my partner.

    I have about an hour a day around 12 midnight to 1am to be online to see the kids, that is also the time when it is daylight in Manila and the webcam works well enough to see anyone properly since we appear to have given up decent lightbulbs over there.

    At this time of year during the day the rut is "wish a good morning" when I get to work, "wish a goodnight" about 2 hours before I leave work, maybe call during the day if we have important things to discuss and try to catch up at the weekend.

    The cost of texting, cellphone and land-line calls adds up very very rapidly, internet is sort of free but we have issues because of the way she wants to use the computer at home, it is also a hi-fi sometimes and this causes problems in audio config as she is not skilled enough to configure Skype or Yahoo Audio when we want voice calls. I have also lost direct MSTSC control of our PC because our dynamic DNS is not working so I cannot remotely help her, tried to talk her through Teamviewer setup but she can't handle that either :(

    So basically yes it is time management, it is also about what you have to talk about, we have been together a long time and get on fine when we are in the same room, except when we are throwing things at each other (metaphorically) being together is not the same as being on the other end of a phone after 7 years.

    When you are together you have a life to share and talk about, when you are apart and on one side struggling to make ends meet and the other side struggling to bring up two kids, there is much less to talk about and time management becomes more important for everyone :(

    Everybody needs their own space as well, only exceptional couples can be together every minute of the day for their whole life.

    In our case, I was online from midnight to 8am in the morning as my mahal only had internet access at work. It was a special time but we decided webcams and phone calls with visits every 4 months or so wasn't a satisfactory way of continuing our relationship. So we came to a crossroads. If this is just fun then we finish but iif were really serious and committed to our relationship then we should marry. We were serious and it's our 10th wedding anniversary next year. The spouse visa application process from the courier picking up the paperwork to the courier arriving back with her passport and spouse visa enclosed took exactly 1 week!!!

    Hey all,
    When we were first apart it was probably 2/3 times a day for an hour or so at a time, now we still talk 2/3 times a day, sometimes for an hour, sometimes just for 15 minutes just to say hi and catch up, we both work so mostly have something to chat / moan about!

    We have been married for 14 years when we left Middle East and moved here to UK. For 14 years my husband is a real family man after work he goes home straight as he got used to me questioning him why is he late for half an hour? :frust: so to avoid this, he calls me whenever he is late! But seriously! he just got used to me being strict and possessive as he called me but he admits that he likes it because he is sure that my eyes and heart are only belong to him! :p
    When we moved here to UK last 2009, Unfortunately my husband's experienced is mainly outside UK so he ends up taking another job outside and leave us here in UK and comes home every 3 months! Since we have been living for 14 years without being apart we find it very difficult from the start to be away from each other :drama:
    so we use text messaging, calls and Skype every single day when he gets home until he goes to bed! :D although we don't really talk a lot he watch his movie and I watch mine in my end then we wave to each other every now and then! :wave:
    There are times when they moved him to another accommodation and he has to reconnect his Internet we are both frustrated not seeing each other! :frust:
    I am a very romantic person and my husband isn't, but he became one after all these years he is happy as I love him dearly! :vhappy:
    Imagine if most people are that both possessed with their love ones there won't be any single parents! Our recipe in marriage is Good morning Honey! I love you to start the day with text messaging and Good night Honey! I love you! Before going off with skype, show and expressed enough love every single day as much as we can to each other! :cheer:
    We only live once so it's better to express your love while there is enough time! :lovey:

    and now I have a loving husband and children who loves me dearly! :cheer:
