I am starting a new thread on this topic as I see that several of us are in the same situation.

My understanding is that the child must be shown as a dependent and as "travelling with" in the online visa application, and that the non-Beitish parent must fill out an application form for the child.

I am frankly unclear on the Philippines regulations.

In the Phils the first question "is the father of the child on the birth cert?" if not plain sailing if so then permission to leave the Phils must be sought

That's basically true but different BoI managers interpret the regulations differently. BoI officers can require the mother to obtain the biological father's permission regardless of whether his name appears on the birth certificate or not. Life is much simpler where the child is below 6 years on the date of travel as legally the mother has full care and control over her children up to that age.

Is there a specified form for the biological father's permission?

(Why am I seeing $$$$$$ signs, and not in a good way?) ;)

I had under estimated my beloved's professional skills as a talent manager, honed by years of work in the film business...

I would, stupidly, have approached the father - the correct approach is to appeal to his elder brother's sense of what will be best for his nephew.

I am keeping well out of this - anything that I do will just result in "long nose tax"!

If this is for a child born in the Philippines then as far as I know, the embassy is not accepting any Passport applications because of the ongoing problems with the Passport Office in Liverpool which can not cope with the volume and apparently still has many months' backlog.

I sympathise with you. I need two Passports.

Hello guys, I do have the same problem, I don't know how to prove that I'm the sole responsibility with my son for his dad left us 13years now. Do I need to ask my mum and sister to do a sworn affidavit to prove this. I'm so stress now. I'm thinking that my son will not be granted with visa to settle with me and together with his step dad and brothers. Please advise me. Thanks.

are you his sole financial supporter--? have you got a record of money you have sent to him ? how old is he now ?

the only way to find out--is to apply for the visa. if its refused--you then know why and can try again or appeal--but at least you can then correct what grounds for refusal are. nothing ventured--nothing gained. dont waste your energy on stress--that solves nothing.

Do you have evidence that you have been to visit him and photographs of you together? I think this should be included, particularly as you seem to have been living here 13 years and he is 13 years old.

I'd also say that sworn affadavits are a good idea.

As much evidence as you can get is probably the best policy.

By the way guys, do I need to provide the passport and visa's of my partner and my 2children? In the appendix1 form there's a question who are the people living in that address so I wrote my partner's name and our 2children.
