    I am becoming frustrated.

My partner has a six year old boy. She was not married to the father, who was long gone by the time I arrived on the scene. the little boy was then two years old and so far as he is concerned I am Daddy. They both want to travel to the UK together.

Now, we understand that the biological father has to sign an Affidavit of Support and Consent to Travel, but although just about every Filipino Consulate has its own version, I cannot find one to be sworn in the Philippines by the unmarried father of a child!

Now I have found this, on the website of the Philippines Embassy in Singapore:

    http://www.philippine-embassy.org.sg/the-philippines-2/dswd-travel-clearance-for-filipino-minors-2/

This says that no affidavit from the father is required, as the mother has sole custody. Article 176 of the Family Code f of the Philippines says so.

Andrew - welcome to the Philippines where everything is more fun!!!

The mother is adjudged under Philippine Family Law to have full care and control over her children up to the age of six. Kieran is now six and just too old to be included in the automatic coverage.

I would advise Corinne visits her local DSWD office in Olongapo who will, I am sure, be able to advise her regarding the required documentation. She can also visit the BoI office there and speak with the Immigration lawyer (free) for further advice.

Yes you can and if he is old enough to travel on his own he can come by himself if you file an Affidavit with the Philippine Embassy here - its on their website
