If Visa successful how long before wife can fly out ?

Hi to all.. im 99% sure were going down the PV route but just wondering if we get the green light and my wife's visa is approved how long roughly before she can leave the Philippines ??

AFTER she gets the CFO sticker----there was a 2 week wait when mine got her visa till she could get a CFO appointment.

day she got the sticker in her passport i booked flight with skyscanner. she was with me 6 days later

wooohooo thats great news.. was thinking since the Philippines is not the quickest at processing things it would be several months..

the CFO is a philipine pain in the ar5e they all have to go through. a 3 hours waste of time--but the main thing is she gets the sticker in her passport there and then--and she can be on the next flight out. i was just a bit nervous of buying a flight till she texted to say it was all done.

I thought you could do the cfo first, so have the cfo cert, then when get visa, just go back with passport and cfo cert and get the cfo sticker in your passport, has not need to wait.

That's correct, but even if you have the cfo seminar and get the sticker at the same time it's still only about a morning worth. It'd not really worth making two trips in my view. You can only go the cfo sticker in your passport on or after the date that your entry clearance on the visa starts.

That is the important point to remember.

It depends on the date you gave for travel in your visa application.

When you get the passport back with the visa it will state on the visa when it is valid from, it is the day after that date you can get the CFO sticker.

You mean we state the date we wish for Marilou to fly to UK ? the reason im asking this im going there for 3months and im planning to bring her back with me with all going to plan ofcourse..

we found there was a waiting time to get a cfo appointment--2 weeks.-- that was in february.

When you apply for the settlement visa it asked you to state when you would like to travel to the UK. The validity of the visa does not start when your missus gets her passport back, in our case it started from the date we had given them in the application.

If I was you I would apply for the premium 10 day service, at least that way you will have a good idea of the time scale, and bear in mind the waiting time for the CFO sticker as bigmac has just mentioned.

What I did was book CFO seminar in advance (I booked online after going to VFS for submission of documents) and chose the intended date of travel for my CFO schedule. This date is also the start of validity of my visa. You can reschedule or cancel anyway if necessary.

Yes for sure were going PV.. she will go to Manila 1st and sit the TB test, 2 days after i arrive we go for the IELTS soon as we know the results we can then finally submit the visa application online, i`m a little concerned though paying that amount of money from abroad using a Visa card, will need to ensure my Bank don`t block the transaction i will ofcourse notify them i`m travelling abroad but the amount is what may set of alarm bells.. can you go to the VFS Visa Application Center and pay there by any chance ?

I always inform the bank before traveling, that way your credit card will never be declined, I inform the bank online I don't know if your bank has the same facility but I'm sure they'll have something similar.

oh wait wait wait, not 1 of these seminars like when marrying in the Philippines where they chat to you about how to love your wife make her happy family planning etc but this time about living abroad ?

so really best option is to book this say for 2 weeks after we submit the visa application since we will get a decision in 10 days and if any problems we can reschedule.. and lastly is the CFO Seminar only available in Manila ?
