Marrying in Denmark

So the lady in question has a Schengen Tourist Visa. Regardless of whether you marry in Germany or Denmark, she will NOT be in possession of any visa that permits a stay of longer than 6 months and she should return to the Philippines before that time is up. If you had both met previously, you could apply for a Type D Schengen Visa, also known as the Family Reunification Visa, which would permit you to marry in Germany and for your wife to obtain a Residence Permit and remain there legally.

You are apoparently attempting to short-circuit the system by marrying on a tourist visa and then planning to remain as an undocumented alien. This might suit your needs but you are not the one who could be sent packing; would your really subject someone you claim to love to such an uncertain future?

    Not a good plan.

That is why I wrote the question as another Pinay had recommended this firm to me and it went against all the advice I had been given on this forum about not being able to marry on a tourist visa. If what you say is correct then i certainly will not go the Denmark idea. That is why I asked for the advice. So if she comes for 3 months then she can go back, apply for a family reunification Visa and we can then marry in Germany?

Thank you so much for your help.

Yes although as far as I know, there is no legal barrier to prevent you marrying on a tourist visa - though you should check the terms and conditions yourself - provided that your now wife returns to the Philippines to apply for the Family Reunification visa. She can either come back to Germany as your fiancée or as your wife. Provided you are in receipt of the UK State Pension, your wife can receive the same entitlement to health care as yourself; your can phone the International Pensions Service of the Department of Work and Pensions and ask them to send you the necessary Form S.

hold on--arent we missing something obvious here ?:

@Geoff has lived in Germany for years--so THAT is his center of life. why cant the lady get a visit visa for germany---and then marry there ? i thought--on that other lengthy thread recently---Brits can marry in germany without heavy fees. then--he can bring his wife back to the UK surinder singh style.

or am i all wrong again ?
