    Hello everyone,

Has anyone in the forum tried The NARIC website has two options - blue or red route. Which one should i take? And which services? And any requirements? I have my transcript and diploma with me right now.

I have read that it is better to have this done as it essentially eliminates the need for any ielts requirements (or any further changes they might require). Im on a fiance visa right now so i only took A1 test (too late in joining the forum).

Im an accountant and like what other members have mentioned you cant translate a lot of the subjects like debit/credit into filipino. Right now, as long as i can get an exemption for further english exams, i should be okay. My work experiences are all with multi-national companies anyway so my CV would speak for itself when time comes for looking for job.

    Appreciate any feedback!

Looking at the website I would take the red route as that is for people settling in the UK, the blue route is for people studying in the UK.

You will need to get any degrees you have compared by NARIC and you will need paperwork from your university showing the degree was taught in English. Note that the degree comparison and the exemption from the IELTS test are dealt with separately by NARIC, I'm sure you can contact them if you have any specific queries.

Good luck finding a job when you receive the first FLR(M).

@Maley I tried NARIC Statement of Comparability this April 2016 when I was in London.
I passed a copy of my diploma and transcript of records. Waited for 2 weeks before the assessment was out. Then the assessment says that my Bachelor in Medical Laboratory Science Degree is considered comparable to BTEC level 5 / SQA Higher National Diploma (HND) standard / Foundation degree standard.

Imagine you studied for 4 years, passed the PRC exam, but in the UK it is only considered a diploma?!

Anyway, since my degree is only considered by NARIC as HND and not a bachelor's degree, I just took CEFR level A1 exam and managed to pass it.

I am not going to pursue my career as a Medtech in UK though. Needed a career change plan!

Good luck for your job hunt!

Bear in mind that a HND on its own is a highly regarded qualification in the UK and should serve you well in your job search.

I`d be very interested to see what NARIC say about your Accountancy qualifications and how they consider it in the U.K..
    Please share once you know..Thanks.

Thank you for the feedback. I would probably get the same rating then.

Feedback from my fiance was that because ph primary education was only 10 yrs (6 yrs elem and 4 yrs hs) thus we are missing 2 yrs so they take it out of the two years in our university (college) education.
So despite the protest of ppl back in ph of the additional 2 yrs on K-12 program, i support it to make it easier for future spouses/gf to get equal rating when they get here.

Money wise, HND is not good enough qualifications.
That is why I decided to change my career plan.

Remember the assessment will vary depending on which university you attended, It has been said that the better the university the better chance you have of NARIC rating the degree as equivalent to one acquired in the UK.

Thanks for letting me know. I always thought it's all about the degree.
I believe my Uni is one of the top Universities here. I only hope it is assessed fairly. I can't wait to get myself a job. It's been a month since my last day at work and it sucks when you don't earn money. :(

I'm 100% it will be assessed fairly, NARIC is the only Government body that assesses qualifications from overseas, if your degree is deemed equivalent to a HND as the lady in the above post then that is still a very good qualification take it from me.

There has always been a lot of talk here that NARIC only look at the six top universities in the Philippines but I somehow doubt that, its surely down to the content and transcripts that you submit.

Get the English assessment done too, it will save you some expense and hassle later on with your future visa applications, I really wish my wife had done this at the same time as she had her degrees assessed.

Do you mean IELTS? The one I took is academic.

When you get your qualifications assessed by NARIC you can also submit documents from your university showing your degree was taught in English, this will then give you an exemption from any further English Tests.

But you should be okay with the IELTS academic as long as the rules don't change, just makes sense to me to get the English Test from NARIC if you are having the assessment done.

Get CPAA certified after. Then learn SAP or other Financial ERPs.

We'll go and get you a high-paying job. Hahahaha...

If your uni/college is in the level of Ateneo, UP, La Salle, UST, your degree will fare better.

I'll tell you straight though, the UK doesn't think much about degrees earned in the Philippines no matter which uni/college.
Especially if it's a big company and you are a newly-grad or doesn't have much experience.

Some companies even only hire people from certain universities such as Cambridge, Oxford, etc.

It will be best if you back your degree with lots of working exp. Or get the UK certifications/licenses equivalent to your job/degree.

Thats the plan after i start (or while) working. There is already a massive bill heading our way in 2017 (wedding in UK, flr (m) application fee, reception and vacation in ph) so its best i start working ASAP then get qualitification along the way.

I have just sent NARIC my request for comparison so lets see how it goes. Its another 10-15 working days wait.

So in the end, only your CV matters?

Since you are in recruitment, how do you check for a candidate from outside the UK? Would you do background checks on all their previous employers etc?

CPAA certified and then learn technical/IT skills (ERPs, coding languages), and the world is your oyster.

People like you will earn more than you can imagine.

    Kaw ang hahabulin dito.
