Its not easy to get the visit visas, its a bit of a catch 22 situation, in that if you do work most companies are reluctant to give you extended time off from work, and if you dont work, its a big black mark against you when you apply, my Fiancee got rejected because she only works on the family farm, cash in hand, crop receipts so didnt have the evidence that she works, we have since got married, and are in the process of applying for a spouse visa, im back working so that we meet the financial requirements, but of course all this takes time, Good luck whatever you guys decide is the best route to take.
