Hello Jeamad. Welcome to British Filipino. We had an unconventional type of engagement. My then fiancé proposed to me without a ring But when he went back to the UK, I think it sunk in on him that I must have one! We don't really trust customs back at home. He sent the ring through my cousin who lives in the US and brought it to me when he had his holiday in the Philippines that same year we got engaged. Coincidentally, my cousin did the same thing 8 years back (having a close relative be the carrier of the engagement ring. He said its like a pay back thing for him. ) Basically, our engagement ring travelled in 3 continents, Europe, America and Asia.

That is good to know! I bought my fiancée's ring in The Philippines - I told her to select one she liked even though she wanted me to bring a ring from the UK. The same with the weddings rings - she chose them when I was not even with her.

hello.. better safe if your fiancee will meet you in person and ask you to marry him.. coz last time my fiancee propose to me, and he send the ring over courier.. and the custom just ask me to pay it so i can get it.. they are really annoying... even though my husband already paid all the taxes..
