Hey. I have collected payslips for the last 6 months from my employment which can be quite different from one week to the next.
If they go on just the last 6 months to grant my partner her visa I may just fall short of the 18600 required BUT over the course of the tax year my annual wage is over that requirement and is clearly shown gross on my recent payslips as being so.( my job is quite seasonal)
I'm also sending 4 yrs p60s from my work showing I regularly earn more than the minimum threshold.
Should I be worried? What should I do? Advice please

Send in 12 months of payslips to prove you have earned over the requirement in the last year, send just your most recent P60. If you fall just one penny below the requirement they could refuse the visa.

At the end of the day you just have to prove you earn over £18,600 per annum.

If you read Anne's post on another thread, so need to show your most recent 6 months payslips. If they come to below half of 18,600 you may have a problem.

If your annual money comes to more than that I would suggest maybe applying when the last 6 months payslips show over 9,300.

Ok thanks Maharg. I get my annual bonus every June which adds over £2000 which I believe is accepted. Surely as my work is seasonal and the fact that I can provide p60s going back 4 yrs earning clearly over 20000 common sense can prevail?
My last weeks payslip shows I'm already over 19000 with 6 more weeks of the tax year remaining

if an application is rejected is it then put on hold until the requirements can be proven acceptable or does a person have to reapply and send another fee?

Can a family member act as a sponsor?

Common sense? You're hoping aren't you? We had a visa refusal so I know how particular they can be. I think you can appeal a decision, but we never. We applied again and were successful second time.

You, as her partner, will have to be the sponsor.

I will provide a years payslips and bank statements. Surely their decision cannot just be based on the past 6 months if their is proof of earning above the threshold for the tax year?
    Very frustrating :/

They do specifically ask for 6 months so be aware of that. It will be your most recent earnings that they are concerned about.

I'm self employed and for that they required 3 years of accounts.

As Timmers suggested. "At the end of the day you just have to prove you earn over £18,600 per annum."

Can anyone verify this is the case from their own experience ?

Three years of accounts is a bit much don't you think? hope they don't want that for our next FLR, at the end of the day why should being self employed differ from an employed person.

Would a couple of years of P60's do?

They only ask for the last six months payslips, people here at BF usual throw in their P60 too for good measure, belts and braces and all that :)

That's what the agency I used told me to submit. They were very thorough on what they asked me to do. Maybe more than neccessary.

I can't see there being a problem, though, if you were working before and have completed a whole financial year.

If an application is rejected, do you have to start back at square one and reapply and send another fee?
If this is the case I will definately wait until I have a good six months before we apply.

    Thanks all :)

I didn't start my own business until we got the first FLR, didn't want the hassle of the extra paperwork that you have to submit if you're self employed.

Yes you'll be back at square one, minus £1000 of course, unless you have grounds to appeal.
