Sorry to bump this thread, stumbled upon this change in rules that affect me

Hi @menchu_edge we are planning a trip to London to report my marriage and renew my passport, same as you. But as the rules have now changed means I can’t do both at the same time? Could you please confirm if I understand the new process correctly? First, report marriage at PE, obtain transmittal details, once transmitted to PSA, request for PSA copy of marriage cert, after that, that’s when you can renew your passport? How will you know when you can request for a PSA marriage cert, or how long will it take them to update their records?

We live far from London and the outreach locations so we would like to maximize our day at the embassy. Do you know if I need to book an appointment? Also can we keep our passport while waiting for the new passport? With all the passport fiasco back in PH I’m sure its going to be a long wait. I woul feel better if I have my passport with me.

Please note Brit-Fil family, they don't accept NSO certs now. Should be PSA authenticated. So better request for it soon.

Yeah you're right. Report of Marriage first then wait for months. Please note that Phil Embassies are transmitting docs to DFA QUARTERLY. That's why when I submitted my RoM last January, I had to wait til April to get the details from DFA. Just email them to check if they already received a copy. If they have it, they will give you the details you need so you can request a PSA authenticated doc from eCensus. If you're planning to change your passport, then you need to wait for it.

P.S. As per eCensus website, please wait for 2 months after the transmittal for them to update their system. So it will really be a long wait.

@menchu_edge Would that apply to an NSO Marriage Cert from Philippines?

Yes. Embassy said it's not valid anymore as they require docs on PSA paper.

Thanks for clarifying @menchu_edge we’re in for a long wait then. Hope DFA sorts out their passport application backlog while we wait for PSA.

I've seen in their fb page that it will only take 1 month since OFWs or OF are priorities. I've seen there too that those who applied for 10-yr validity pp January this year got their pp on Feb.

Sounds familiar, Sanders is right about the birth certificate you can get a new one from ecenus anywhere in the world, for some god forsaken reason birth certificates seem to expire after 6 months, originals are meaningless, very strange.

Regards the marriage certificate they are talking about the DFA red ribbon version pain in the backside, Ana's was lost by her first lawyer 18 years ago, it cost me over 2000 pounds between getting original certified copies of the divorce in South Korea and certified duplicates of the original marriage certificate as registered in Korea, red ribboned in Seoul, submitted to the DFA internationally and she still hasn't completed the final steps, not that I care anymore as although I want her to have the relevant freedoms I will not marry her, just a piece of paper and waste of money in my mind maybe I am kuripot :)

The process is straightforward but typically bureaucratic, if you get all the bits of paper it is then just an oath and she becomes a dual citizen.

P.S. I should explain that Ana got her Philippine nationality restored in 2007 the docs we had then were enough to get her BI certificate which states she is Filipino, but her divorce is still not recognised.

The recovery of nationality is a statutory formality but does require all these bloody documents :(

    Update

Used the email provided by Menchu Edge (once again, thanks), and within 48hrs I’ve now got the Dispatch no, Reference no, & Transmittal date. The DFA can’t provide a Dispatch date (perhaps they weren’t logging that data in 2009), so let’s hope that’s not a deal breaker.

I’ve now sent on these details eCensus.

    To be continued ………………

    New Update

So, after providing them with all the correct info, I got this:

    “Dispatch Date : June 1, 2018
The document was dispatched via the registered mail services of the Philippine Postal Corporation (PhilPost). You will receive the document within six to eight weeks.”

…… and amazingly the documents turned up TODAY ! Yes, after only 9 days !
    UNBELIEVABLE

So, back to the Philippine Embassy we go…..

    Hi All,
Recently, I had my British Citizenship and passport done. Now I am preparing my documents to reacquire my Filipino Citizenship. All my applications (UKVI), I used a NSO authenticated Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate, no problem/ questions. And now, reading this forum makes me think that I might need to get a new PSA authenticated certificates, is this correct? Is there anyone here reacquire PH Citizenship recently. Another thing is, one of the requirement is a Voter's ID but I never had one. I didn't register to vote. Will this be a problem?
    Thanks.
