I don't often agree with @graham59 , but in this instance he has nailed it.

This is Golden Rule Number 1

Do not send money to anybody you have never met in person, no matter where they are from.

I understand your predicament, but there are many, many Filipinas who have already left the Philippines and are working abroad. Many of those are in Britain. Some of them are single. If you are sure that it's a Filipina that you want, look somewhere other than the Philippines to find one.

This one is sounding alarm bells throughout the entire Brit-Fil community on here. We aren't trying to wet your fireworks. It's just that you seem dead set on bankrupting yourself on a wild goose chase.

I think relevant to this thread is Geoffs original thread started way back September 2016 " can anyone help me through this maze" (or something like that"
    Declaration of mutual love....never met!

I agree with@graham there has to be realism in this world

I just hope the OP reads and takes the good advice offered from the experienced members on this forum .
Good advice to try to find a filipina here, or maybe try to find one there with a decent job that can afford her own flight ticket , and also have better chance with visa application .
I appreciate that you are not probably not interested in anyone other than your current correspondent , but after a bad experience last time , you need to safeguard yourself from any more disappointment.
Have you considered that you might send her flight money to open bank account , only for her to tell you rightly or wrongly , that she can't get a visa to visit you ?

    Hi there.

Dont send her the money. If she doesnt have a job, how will she explain where the money came from? She will have to provide 6 month bank statement - so would you wait 7 months so they ‘dont see’ that lump sum amount you have sent? Or will you be sending a few thousands every month?

It might be more convincing if you actually sponsor her and explain the situation - why you cant visit ph etc.

Dont ever send money to anyone you dont know - thats rule #1

If you and @graham59 bothered to check my past posts you would know I am wheel chair bound in permament pain and I find it offensive that you both should tell me to make an effort to visit the Philippines. I have tried twice losing my airfare both time due to pain on the day of flying. The lady I am chatting with at the moment is 54. Is that what you call a young lady? Try checking your facts before judging other people.

What do you mean never met? You know perfectly well that she came and stayed here for 3 months. You must remember you asked me enough questions about the visit

To be honest I also would feel suspicious. However, if the Op can afford to lose the money and is the gambling type then... Go ahead. You only live once.

Alternatively you could hire an agency to run some character checks. I think there are places in the Philippines that will for a fee, investigate her background and her circumstances and character. Might be worth a try.

And finally, without wishing to be offensive, I would like to gently point out that due to your circumstances Geoff, i feel that you're likely to encounter more women who are motivated by money than you would prefer - as you have already discovered - so please don't be surprised if you encounter another.

I suggest you revisit your original post when you first came on the site in September 2016 , it reads something like " we have been skyping for months and have fallen in love"

Why is there no realism in this world, do you not believe someone can fall in love after spending hours of videoskype for 10 months without meeting?

    Who is judging you ?

I suggest you read MY posts properly too. I am 'talking' generally ... and how do I know the truth of your particular situation ? This is the internet.

Geoff , even if you buy the flight tickets and can send them to her , you still will face problems with her visa application. The lady will still need to show sufficient funds for her trip , plus compelling reasons for her to return .
Sorry , not wanting to sound negative, just being realistic, but it's your decision no one else .

Thanks for your advice. With the last lady who came on a tourist visa, I sent flight tickets and then wrote to say I will cover her expenses and confirmation of my finances here in Germany and she obtained a 3 month visa with no problem. Maybe I was just lucky, she had no compelling reason to return.
