https://www.carehome.co.uk/jobs/index.cfm/jobcategory/carers/orderid/9 Jobs over £9.85 an hour for a 40 hour week would qualify. Some care homes staff are working 48 hours a week ........ (from April national minimum wage is £9.50 an hour)
I used to run care homes and no experience necessary as full training given. This is a list of sponsors https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...ategorised-by-region-and-the-industry-sectors - you look up each of them - check that the job is paying enough - then look at the job vacancy and satisfy the conditions. The applicant applies - it's not rocket science, is it? They will needs IELTS 4 All roles in SOC Code 6145 will be brought into scope of this visa change. According to ONS this includes the job titles: Care Assistant, Care Worker, Carer, Home Care Assistant, Home Carer and Support Worker (Nursing Home). They need to fill in an application form and pass an interview.
Which Care Worker training courses are available in Cebu? It would have to be recognised in UK, over a year or 2 period. Thanks for any feedback.
Check out the Fil-Canadian caregiver courses in cebu City, there are a few. https://www.finduniversity.ph/caregiving-schools/central-visayas/cebu-city/diploma-programs/
I don't know if its UK equivalency, I am in Canada and know filipinas who are here because of doing Fil-Can caregiver courses.
Just browsing here... and thinking I might try and send my wife down this route, is this advice still good @CatchFriday ? I had a quick look at the list and then tried to google the name (Sponsor) on the list only to be confronted by a list of similar names but not always exact matches... I then tried one of the bigger names, Monarch, found an advert but sadly no salary details are provided... I am not a Rocket Scientist ... should it be quite easy or am I doing it wrong???
In the UK there is a shortage of 165.000 carers and you may like to be in contact with Marie Stroud whatsapp +44 7879 775423 https://www.linkedin.com/in/maria-stroud-a754a760/ Director of Alliance Resource International Ltd and Alliance Resource Healthcare UK Also https://www.linkedin.com/in/filipino-caregivers/
My understanding now is filipino applicants wanting to come over to the UK to work in the care sector need a university degree.
This is incorrect, but you have to know the right people for getting across the line. If they have the caregivers course that will help of course. It's better to start from the UK - find the vacancies, Talk to the owners of the care homes. Live in Carers earn from £718 a week to £1000 a week if they have experience in the UK. Have a look at the Lady magazine. In this game there are lots of people who will give you any amount of tosh..... degree - not required.
I am not saying it is going to be easy, where there is a will there is a way. We live in Spain now, best thing I ever did leaving the UK, and missing the utility bills. but my wife is strongly considering working in the UK as a carer. She has been accepted.
my wife is the registered manager of a care home--and i often talk to the owners. They have recently sponsored several carers from India--they are here now--working in the home. They are also qualified nurses. ( not necessary but useful ). My wife is also in contact with her previous employer--who owns several homes. She is in the process of sponsoring several carers. As i said--watch this space.
